Dear JodyHR.
Where is my jeep? Lol
If you told me what state, and where it was coming from I could possibly tell you what train it might be on, if it’s even on a train. but there aren’t any railroad delays right now that are any different than they have ever been. So telling people it’s because of trains is just a lie. I work in an area where we service the Mercedes plant where they are built, and also ford, and when they roll out of the plant they are loaded onto rail cars and we pick up every loaded railroad every night. This hasn’t changed and never will automotive customers pay well and railroads take care of them

I was told this: but now that we're getting into the colder months the weather is a much bigger factor with the transportation process. Trains are going slower and they aren't hauling the extra train carts they normally would in the summertime.

Toledo OH to Baltimore it was shipped on the 11th. I never blamed the rail system.

Sadly, it appears my quest to join you as a fellow Jeep owner is fading. I hadn’t heard any meaningful info from my dealer on my July 21, 2022 order so I reached out to Jeep Help Chat this morning to see if they could help. They saw my order and said that it had indeed exceeded the allotted time at “C” status and that it needed to be investigated. They assigned a case # and said Jeep would contact me within one day. I then passed this info on to the GM of my dealer and said that I would figure out what to do after hearing from Jeep. He very quickly shot me back an email stating that he didn’t care for the tone of my email and that he was cancelling my order, to call and get my deposit credited to my card. Nice customer service, huh?

I then called Jeep and spent 42 minutes on the phone with an exceptionally good customer service person, Akira. She was great and tried everything she could to help me, including calling the GM at my dealership. She told me that he was the rudest person she could recall speaking with and 100% understood why there is an issue, that the dealership lacked not only in customer service, but in people skills. She recorded all info, including the email from GM and the fact that they tried to sneak items onto the sales agreement (wheel locks, fabric protection). An attempt is being made to transfer my order to another Cape Jeep dealer, but it doesn’t look good. After I get my deposit back and am clear of this dealer, I will post further details just so anyone else looking to buy a Jeep in my area avoids this dealer and the incredible disappointment of not getting their Jeep. I wouldn’t wish these “salespeople” on anyone. I am pretty bummed out about this. (Yes, I know I could order another, but a dealer I spoke to today tells me 6 months, and I can’t wait that long on top of the 3 months now)
Yikes. Look at the list in Ratbert's signature of dealers that do below invoice pricing. Saved me enough that a trip to DC to pick it up made sense, and I suspect they get better than average delivery times. I used Koons (good experience) but there are a bunch of others listed. I ordered three weeks before you did, with all the options that folks said would delay my order, and I've had it for more than a month now.

Thanks. I am probably going to go in a different direction now. I was totally jazzed about getting my Jeep but all that I have gone through with this terrible dealership, the lies, lack of info, being ignored and now this, has pretty much drained me on Jeep - unbelievable.

Thanks. I was sorry not to see your Hydro Blue soft top on the lot. Hopefully soon.
All good. Jeep’s at the Body Vendor. So hopefully I get a built notification in the next week or so.

I got to drive a willys manual 2dr in that color, and I have to say it was way way cooler in person, and would definitely consider it now that I've seen it. Congrats!

-------------------------------------

As for mine, still just sitting with a VIN for 8 days (so that's technically D status right?) I don't expect to see anything soon based off the time a lot of you have been waiting. I'm anxious to get it asap while my trade in is up in value, but I also am not ready to come off all my money I've saved haha
I saw a 2-door Willys in HVY on the road today. It's the first one I've seen in the wild.

Hope your order moves quickly. I spent most of my time selling stuff on FB for my down payment. It was definitely hard to part with yezterday but worth it!

Not sure who all is telling you all there is a possible rail strike, there isnt. We have a contract and are supposed to vote on it in the next 30 days. So whoever is using that as an excuse as to why jeeps aren’t being delivered is lying. P.S. I work for railroad, in transportation department I would know if we were gonna strike lol
Well, the news broke several weeks ago that one of the unions did not accept the deal put forth, and that in order for the deal to pass, all the unions had to accept the deal... so, that is why there is speculation of an impending strike.

The Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees (BMWED) voted NOT to ratify the national agreement back on October 10th and, this week, the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen (BRS) followed them in voting NOT to ratify the national agreement. The national agreement apparently requires all unions to ratify it in order to pass.

What is currently unclear is when the unions would be allowed to strike, due to the laws governing rail labor.

If you'd like articles on the matter, I can post links to them...

That looks awesome! Just put in an order for High Velocity!
Yay! I am loving it. Coming from a white Jeep so it's quite a change. Have only seen one in this color in my area. I'd be fine if it stays that way.

It's what the news is reporting. Now I know the news likes to play scare tactics and there are a lot of strings that can still be pulled to prevent a strike.

thanks! I hope it does too, but we don't really need the vehicle until probably march or april right after our son is born. We had to replace my wifes small 3dr vw because we have nothing that can haul 2 kids, 2 dogs, and gear. I've been putting a truck payment away every month since I paid off my truck 4 years ago. I didn't know I'd be keeping my truck and buying a jeep to replace my wifes car but there it is, at least I saved truck (jeep) money. We'll still be financing because I'm not draining my savings, but I'm glad I planned ahead.
