Big thing with a VIN is it means they’ve begun gathering your parts. At least from my understanding.

It's scheduled to start gathering parts. Gathering doesn't start until D1.

Yeah, just got my order confirmation email from Jeep on 6/11 order. Now I have to put it out of my mind for a while. If I get it in the months of September or October, I will be perfectly fine with that. November onward I might start getting antsy. My Sahara 4xe order is pretty vanilla. Can't imagine much holding it up except for the regular safety group if there remains chip problems.

Does anyone else have a VIN for their 2023 order? When I ordered a 2022 I had a VIN in about 2 or 3 days.

I'm just hoping they build mine before those stupid nanny controls become standard equipment.

Hopefully, they'll hold off a while longer before making the advanced safety tech mandatory. Just had my camera/sensor unit go bad on a Mazda, and the part is backordered for several months. Maybe something for manufacturers to consider in another year or two, but a dumb idea to force this kind of stuff during an ongoing chip shortage.
