Just got word from Koons that my build status updated to F (Paint). Estimated ship date of 10/19. They say they hope it arrives sooner than the 11/10 estimate.
I never get any updates from Koons. Is it your salesman letting you know?

This forum has covered deposits before but we'll refresh the issue.
If you don't put down a deposit, your vehicle is not truly secured in your name. W/o the deposit, you may as well have come down there, helped them spec an order, and walked out as if you were just bored n wanted out of the house.
So you think it's only a contract if you've put money down? What's the difference if they do take your money and simply refund it? When you submit a sold order, it's in your name and that's why the window sticker is printed with it on it. At least in Virginia, it's a contract once both parties acknowledge there's a value of something that is to be provided based upon a mutual agreement.
They provided the "cost" of the vehicle to be delivered in the form of a sales/purchase order, which I signed acknowledging it's what I want/expect...guess what will absolutely happen next? and truth be told, it could have been verbal, the signatures are just checks and balance to cover each other.
When a dealer doesn't honor a sale, they are expecting the customer to be mad and walk away instead of hiring an expensive lawyer to fight them. Trust me, once you get a lawyer involved, both sides will come to a resolution real quick if you've got a sold-order document. With or without a deposit. The dealership decides not to require a deposit, that's on them.

If a purchaser doesn't qualify for their terms, i.e. in-house financing, that's a different story.

Deposits mean little to a dealership that is intent on breaching a contract. It wouldn't make a difference in the end (this varies by state I"m sure).

You have to ask for the updates. They have an email that you can send a request to for an update. [email protected]. Just give them your VON and ask for status. I ping them about once a week. No one gets pissy about it. I think they did this to avoid the salesmen getting bugged all the time.

Well, you can't have it! Get your own, man.
Ha! I've been trying, since July, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel, I just hope it's not a train coming at me, unless of course that train is carrying my Jeep...

Jeep's data is so poor. Lots of Jeeps with incorrect dates, skipping entire statuses, and showing up all of a sudden at dealers.
I can co-sign for this statement. My Jeep has already been built, inspected by the factory before being ready for shipping (per my salesman at my Jeep dealer). Currently, my tracker is still saying that it is in production since Sept. 26th.

Do we know who our current record holder is for longest wait so far? I think I saw a few still waiting from mid June?
