The tow package was required? That's weird, but I've never heard of anyone regretting that option.

Yeah, I thought it strange myself. I got the build confirmation sheet back from them, and the wheels and the tow pack were added and he had written required next to both. But, like you said - I won’t regret it. I’ll just have to buy a trailer now, I guess. Hah.

I think the 4XE wheels are the new free wheels for the non-hybrid, just not available with red stickers or something yet...!

Makes sense, seems there are some items that come standard on the 4xe that are options for non-4xe

Jeep should have offered price protection when they bumped you. That would have been the right thing to do. Honestly, it's not the dealerships fault the price went up or that you got bumped to 2023. They don't get to determine their cost. I'm sure your dealer would love to get 2023 models at 2022 costs.

Maybe Jeep did do that, I discussed it with the dealership yesterday and his initial comment was "just for options and rebates" but when I pushed on him he told me he has to contact the zone rep to get clarification. So I'm losing the Gorilla glass, but that is OK, and the tan top which I wanted for the white body color, will now be black due to being discontinued. All OK.

MY23 Base model with $395 color option and shipping is $81,985 vs MY22 $79,085.

MY23 order guides haven't been released yet, afaik.

It's insanely dumb that they'd release a June MY22 order guide after opening '23 and closing '22 order banks at the dealer level. At this point, they should have those ready and the website configurator active as of today.

I'm sure that they put out the June 2022 guide so that people will start getting used to those price increases. Then when they do more increases for 2023 it won't look as big.

With the economy cooling and likely heading into a recession, maybe they're raising pricing so they can look good dropping them back to the same price later!

I'm mostly joking, but every other manufacturer's recent price increase has been incredibly minor compared to Jeep's multiple large hikes in both base pricing and options. I understand the parts shortage and inflation still having an impact, but overall, they're simply out of line within the industry by a not insignificant factor.
