I'm getting ready to buy either a used JLU Rubicon with xtreme recon package or a new 2024 Rubicon X. With the new changes for 2024, I would have expected better pricing on 2023 and older. I realize jeeps hold their value but I have seen $5000 mark ups on 2023 XR rubicons at a nearby dealer. That would be about $7000 more than I can order a 2024 Rubicon X. Clearly that makes no sense but I had hoped to save some money on an older one. Anyone know if those deals exist or am I looking for a unicorn?

Where are you located. I just picked up mine not even two weeks ago with $3000 advertised price off Msrp. Then got another $1000 off. Some dealers won’t deal with you some will just gotta do your homework.
I picked up mine in northern ca too where everything is marked up not just automotive.

I'm in Murrieta. Here's an example of what I'm talking about.

https://www.tuttleclickjeep.com/inv...-rubicon-4x4-sport-utility-1c4hjxfnxpw644284/

I can get a 2024 Rubicon x for ~ $61,500 with all the new changes. If you don't mind me asking, what were you able to get your 2023 XR for? Also, what options? Cold weather, trailer tow, etc.? If I can find a 2023 with the right options and save enough money, I would get one. Otherwise, I probably should just order new. Another issue is sting grey is my favorite color and it's no longer an option for 2024.

Yeah it really depends upon where you are. I just picked up my 23 XR Rubicon a few weeks ago off the lot and ended up at 2.5-3% below invoice with a lot of work. I know it’s not optimal but it was the best I could find for something not ordered. Also you should consider that I think the XRs pretty much sell themselves, they are still in high demand. I saw much deeper discounts on regular Rubicons.

If you are buying off the lot expect mark up.
Bunch of dealers will go under invoice if you order.
Search the forum for those dealers and save a bunch of money and get a 24.

Yeah, I can get 6% below invoice in ID on a ‘24 Rubicon X. Haven’t seen anything on autotrader or CarGurus that saves enough to justify the extra years, miles, missing options etc. I’ve never ordered a new one. Any idea when the window closes.

Man, for that price I am tempted to sell mine. Might want to consider buying online and spending 1,000 bucks to ship. I drove about 4 hours each way to grab mine in D.C. and saved about 5k in february.

$5K markup on a non-392 Rubi XR is just absurd. I suspect the situation will change dramatically in a few months when the 2024s start flooding dealer lots that are already awash in 2023s sitting there.

Yep, open to all. Searching across US. Broad target is 20-21 loaded JLU Rubicon (XR a plus) for ~ $42. If I can find it, that’s a substantial savings over new. If not, then probably better to buy new. Of course this isn’t an exact science. If I find used that’s close, May have to compromise on color or some options. I’ll enjoy the hunt for the next few months

If you're not buying from Kent at Peterson's, you're pissing money away.

69,000 for the Rubicon recon or is that just the Rubicon for $69,000 ? I can't see paying that much more for the recon I mean what else are you getting besides 35-in tires which I would change anyway to 37s and colored seat belts which are red I think and then the 456 gears Is that it for 69,000 ? I mean at least you wouldn't have to read gear probably with 456 gears when you put 37s. I mean recon is $69,000 damn how much is the 392 now?

It depends on your area. In my area most dealers have a good supply so prices are sticker or slightly below. We bought a 23 attitude pretty loaded at 60000. East Tennessee area

The attitude how's that compare to a Rubicon ? there's so many different packages out there I see the stickers on the hood
