Didn't use my vehicle all weekend, then went to take the kids to school and it wouldn't start. Lights are on and bright, no doors ajar, the vehicle clicks, but doesn't turn over/start. Tried jumping it with a buddy, no joy. I'm going to call roadside assistance, but any ideas from experts? I'm not a mechanically inclined person, but this is driving me nuts on a car 1 month from warranty expiry.

Most likely, a battery failureBefore roadside assistance does anything, assuming you don’t have Etorque, isolate the auxiliary battery out of the system. Do a quick you tube search and you’ll see what to do. Basically, remove the aux battery negative cable off the main battery terminal and pull fuse 42. That might enable a jump start, but you should have the battery checked and probably replaced with an H7 size.

Thanks. Is it common for these batteries to go before the 3 year mark? Glad I am still under warranty. I guess maybe I should consider an extended warranty after-all.

Very common. That is why many of us disable the start stop system and ditch the aux battery.

Normal. Have a 2024 where battery died in <12 months. Ditch the aux.

Okay. Good to know. So can I just turn off the start/stop and quit using it or do I need to have the aux battery removed entirely?

You need to remove it from the circuit. See post #2.

As everyone mentioned, it was indeed the aux battery. Pretty whack. Man, this thing has had more problems in less than 3 years than my Honda in 10+. Sure is fun to drive though :).

Some weird information here but I figured I'd mention it.

The primary battery goes to the fuse box (but doesnt touch anything other than the starter and EPS), out through a fuse (known as the z-case fuse array), to the PCR relay, to then PIGGYBACK on the aux batteries positive terminal to then return to the fuse box and power the vehicle.

When the vehicle first starts the PCM will open that (normally closed) PCR relay to isolate and test the aux battery. If that aux battery is so dead that it can't power the fuse box, the process stops and the car won't be able to start anymore. If there's a bit of juice left, the PCM will recognize the failed start and won't actuate that relay on the next start attempt allowing the primary to continue to supply power to the whole vehicle during the start attempt.

In the future if you're unable to jump start the vehicle go ahead and jump the N1 post on the fuse box. This will bypass that system and power the vehicle's fuse box directly. You may need to use the override feature on the jump box to force power out if it's an automatic type jumper.

Either use a tazer to disable, or by an auto stop eliminator, it just plugs in easily and disables the feature. Check out https://www.autostopeliminator.com/products/2018-jeep-wrangler-jl-autostop-eliminator
I just did this and it works perfectly. You install it and set it to disable start stop and it remembers that setting every time you get back into the Jeep. Then if you want you can enable start stop and it will remember it every time you get in the Jeep. You never have to press the button again if you do not want the function. Every car should have had that option for the owner. Brilliant.

I have had my batteries replaced twice Within two years. It turns out my electrical issues were caused by two loose pins in the PCM harness. It only took two years to stumble onto the problem.

Just to close the loop - Ultimately, both batteries were bad. From reading, it seems the aux battery likely killed the main battery over time.

Here's a question though - I know dealers charge far higher prices than your run of the mill shop, but how much are these batteries? Looking at their invoice (all covered under warranty that expires in less than 3 months, thank goodness), they quote $275 for the aux battery and $475 for the main. It seems kinda nuts.
