2021 Alpine Subwoofer Delete

Please accept my apologies if this has been discussed before. I could not find anything specific to my question. Can you remove the rear floor mounted subwoofer and use the stereo without damaging it? I know some audio systems can be damaged if they are run without speakers. Also will this cause any error messages?

Followup.
Went ahead and removed the subwoofer and there doesn't seem to be any issues. Since I don't play music with window rattling bass I really haven't noticed any difference.

I don’t find the sub woofer overpowering at all.
IMO the whole system is a bit weak.

I removed it for two reasons.

1. To make room to mount my mobile Ham Radio transceiver.
2. To have more storage space.

I really see no reason to have that big a speaker taking up room.
