my 2020 JLU Recon 2.0 has a Teraflex 2.5 suspension lift and falcon shocks. Im getting ready to remove the shock and have them upgraded/overhauled but had a question.

Is it safe to remove the shocks and not install anything in its place for about 2 weeks? I would not drive it but may need to move it from the street to the driveway.
Or should i find someones old shocks to buy to just have something there?

Would stock/OEM shocks be long enough to just install and not drive?

I believe that they simply dampen the motion of your coil springs, keep them from compressing and rebounding too quickly, so I don't see any issue moving it from the street to the driveway without the shocks.

I bought some cheap shocks that will work with my lift.

You can even drive it a little bit without shocks, a lot of vehicles you see on the road have essentially worn out shocks and get by fine. The vehicle will handle a bit loose though. I believe the live axle uses the shocks as sort of a limit stop on extension so if you try to articulate a lot without the shocks in place a coil spring could pop out. This could be a problem on your driveway too if you have any slope coming off of the steet like my driveway is.
