Would a DB3 bracket with short arms reasonable compromise between ground clearance and improving rear arm geometry for high levels of droop? You can read this and that about the drop brackets for on road handling, etc, but not much in the context of articulation

It will help. Not to the same level as long arms.

Honestly I was working under the jeep for a bit today and was imagining those DB3s brackets installed, I think I am just going to opt to save up for long arms and pull the trigger after a while. I will probably weld them, at least partially, on though. The last thing I want to worry about is the bolt on brackets being the cause of the week's latest clunk or clang

@CloakedWillys , more thoughts on this this AM.

  • Since the limiting factor in the front is your driveshaft angle, I wonder if you strapped the center to your max DL angle before binding with a truss, or similar, you could eek out more droop side to side.
  • For F/R you eventually run out of spring. I wonder why hardly anyone makes spring retainers for the JL. Something relatively easy to make at home I suppose, I see rustys offers a lower.

This is the way to go. I have the 3.5" lock-n-load and I opted to go with the DB3 brackets in the rear. Overall a huge improvement but my limiting factor right now is getting hung up on the DB3 brackets. I'll be swapping out to the long arm rears this fall.
