First post from a prospective JL owner, so please be gentle.
I went to see a 2020 Jeep Wrangler earlier this week and was surprised at how much rust there was underneath.
It has been based in Michigan, so snow, salt, rain etc.
I appreciate the video doesn't really focus on what I now know to be the particular problem areas but I wont get to take another look until the weekend as it is over an hour away from me.
To my non-Jeep trained eye it looks like the vehicle was seldom cleaned underneath and no anti-corrosion treatment was given.
It also looks like a bit of elbow grease, some Rustoleum rust reformer, undercoat, and Fluid Film and regular repeats and I think that I can stop the rot, so to speak.
For all of you who have faced similar, or worse, do you agree with my assessment that some remedial TLC will resolve the issue or is this just the tip of a huge iceberg that will simply rust to bits regardless of what I do?
I think my surprise at the amount of rust was because the bodywork is otherwise spotless, everything is stock, there are no signs of off-roading on the skid plates or the paintwork - the car looks like it has never been so much as up a curb, let alone up a trail.
