2020 Jeep Steering Box - upgrade

I’m looking to upgrade the steering box on my 2020 Jeep JL, as the original aluminum one is making the steering feel too soft. Do you have any recommendations on which steering box would be a good replacement?

super nice. I was thinking more of a smaller upgrade just a standard steel one.

Will they? I was thinking it was just a TSB and not a recall.

I have a 2022 so I didn't pay real close attention to it but I believe this is the relevant TSB. Map Title 08-074-20 REV. B

MOPAR OEM Cast iron steering box, with new mounting bolts. Since it is a safety defect, they should help you out with some of the costs. @JeepCares

In all seriousness, I know of several people who had it done, although it may have been under extended warranties.

I was able to get mine replaced at the dealership. It is a 2020 and had it done in 2024. My dealership said i was out of the warranty period but "Got a waiver" if i paid $100 deductible. So, for 100 bucks i said sure. It really did help steering wonder that would start once the power steering got warm/hot. For, me the key was to say It drives fine when i start it but after 30 mins or so it starts wondering pretty bad"

I have a 2021 JLURD and it has a. aluminum steering box. The TSB states up to 2020. Has anyone had a 2021 or newer replaced by the dealer?

You can run plugs in a box that is tapped for hydraulic assist until you want to upgrade. If I was paying for a new steering box that's the route I'd go.
