I am quickly noticing I should have probably gotten a Rubicon or a Sport if I intended to build my Jeep. Has anyone else taken a Sahara and built it out? I am hearing even with a lift they do not recommend wheels and tires larger than 35.
Yes I have, check out my garage to see it. In short, it's not that's it's a Sahara it also goes for the Sport, the week link is your axles. We replaced them with D44s with lockers. The other catch is the fenders since the Rubi are higher, if you want max articulation you need different fenders.
People can and will throw 35s and 37s on Sports and Saharas all day long but they are rolling the dice if they wheel them hard.
A guy on the forum called Dana/Spycer and asked about 35s on the Sahara and Sport axles and they said OK for Mall Crawling and LITE off roading, other than that they are cya and saying not to.

I actually love those wheels and tires as well as the front bumper, what are you running?

Why not 4.88s, the math lands 37" tires going with 4.88 gears and some even go to 5.13s. 4.56s are typically for 35s.

I had it tuned and the shift points changed, I'm scared 4.88s would be to much. I can get 7th gear at 65mph but 8th isn't there. But who knows. I can always go bigger.

Yeah you won't touch 8th gear with the stock 3.45 gears and 37s. Right now my manual is running 4.88s with 37s and it's a good combo. My wife's automatic still has 4.10s and it is amazing how that auto tranny compensates with 37s on it. Literally did nothing except piunch the tire size in the Tzaer, no tuning of gears at all. Even with 4.10s 8th gear is used all the time. Eventually we will go to 4.88s the reason is it's where it needs to be run and will take the burden off the tranny to do the work.

You may have just talked me into 4.88s. I'm thinking about going to a 38 anyhow so I can put these 37s on the wifes Rubi.

The real question is what will you be doing with the Sahara?
I would like to do some light to medium off road stuff. No serious rock crawling but who knows, I might end up going and get a bug.

How are you liking that front bumper? It looks like the one I ordered this morning.

With 37s why aren't you going to 4.88 or 5.13s?

This wheel features dual bead seats. The outer bead of the tire can be mounted in a DOT-approved inner location or in the outer location as a true bead lock with purchase of Functional Lock Ring Kit.
Just to note, the OEM wheel is only DOT approved when the tire is mounted in the traditional fashion, not as a true beadlock. I think the Hutchinson may be the only real DOT option.

I have a 2019 Sahara 2.0t. I have it pretty heavily built up. I knew I was going to be building it before I bought the jeep and after researching, still decided the Sahara was what I was looking for.

I have a 3.5" lift, 35s, bumpers, rails, lights, hood, cold air intake, and a few other things I'm forgetting while listing off the top of my head.

I considered a regear, but decided not to. While I rarely see 8th gear at this point, I still feel like the jeep drives very well. Still has great pick up and speed. Gas mileage is still pretty good too.

I see you mentioned wanting 37s. Had I got 37s, I probably would have gotten a regear. I ultimately decided 37s were unnecessary for me. Also, the 3.5" Rancho lift recommended not to go higher than 35s with that particular lift, which is the lift I wanted.

Besides just wanting to have a jeep because jeeps are awesome, I bought it with the primary focus of being able to drive in the snow and then light/mild trails and dirt/gravel roads around a farm, where I work. With those type of driving focuses in mind, my build works perfectly for me.

I'm very happy with my choice of the Sahara and my build so far. All our jeeps are our own, so as always, do what you feels best. But aside from the axles and the regear, the Sahara is still a great jeep to build.

And pics because why not
