With one layer left I took a pretty good hit this winter and it left a chip. I cut out a small circle and repaired that but I'm pretty sure it would have resulted in a cracked windshield. I'll be putting on my new set in another month or so.

I should note, I try to run 91 octane without ethanol. If I have to run ethanol, the efficiency tanks 3-4 mpg. On a recent 100 mile interstate run I got 11.6mpg!

As far as mpg, on mine (Rubi, 35's, leveling lift) I can see 18-20 if I can keep it in town below 65mph. If I take it on the interstate at 80mph, that drops pretty quickly to 15-17 mpg. But the power to pass at 80 is phenomenal.

That Maker's 12yr is already averaging $400 on the secondary 😳. We'll likely never see it in my state...

Maker's is one of my favorites due to the homey feel. Woodford kind of has that feel too. Lux is pretty good, Rabbit Hole has that modern vibe too. Bardstown Bourbon has a good tour too, they have an interesting story doing contract recipes, distillation, and maturation.

How do you suppose it's different from the standard Double Oak?
