2019 JL 2.0 P0344 & P06DE codes

These just started popping up today. The jeeps seemingly runs perfectly fine. I cleared them once and they didn't come back until the 2nd drive. 40k miles with aux battery bypass.

Originally I started getting the yellow ! icon saying auto start/stop needs servicing, which was fine with my because I don't use it anymore anyway. Then these popped up.

Ambient temperature is around 90F and it seemingly ran fine, idled smooth, etc.

Didn't know if I should post this in this section or the electrical section.

Perform an oil change and use an OEM filter. If DTC returns replace oil pump. If camshaft DTC returns you're looking at some type of camshaft repair. I suspect the cam code won't come back once the oil pressure issue is resolved

I was wondering if it's oil. It's not my DD anymore so while mileage wise it's still good it has been a few years.

Are these pretty sensitive with needing to stick with OEM filters?

I have seen similar codes on GM 5th gen V8 and oil changes often fix that as well. Something about that variable oil pump getting sludged up I think.

And I believe that exclamation mark warning for stop start comes on when any check engine light fault happens, even if it’s not related to stop start.

Pretty sure that's to ensure you're using an oil filter that's in spec and not some sort of high efficiency filter with increased resistance. They're not that sensitive but who knows what filter is on there and how dirty/clogged it is.

Yeah that’s fair. I prefer just to use OEM anyway to be safe, have on all of my cars.

I used to be big on Wix filters but recently started using OEM because, funnily enough they're easier to find.

It's an OEM one.

a lot of the after market filters aren't built correctly and throw cam/timing DTCs due to improper oil pressure. i've seen the jiffy lube one cause issues a lot. if you pull the cap off and find the filter area full of oil it's causing issues

kind of an interesting topic as ive had 3 filter issues in the last month, two were fixed by the filter but the third ended up needing an oil pump

A few years between oil changes is pretty crazy!😝
To be faaaaiiirrrrr I got a chevy bolt EV for cheaper (and less bouncy) daily drivering and drive the jeep during the nice summer days, really bad winters, etc. etc. I have it on a battery tender if it doesn't get driven for more than a week.


Is there oil in it? What’s idle oil pressure looking like?
Like 22-ish PSI at idle. if I'm remembering the gauge correctly, around the middle.
