Oh. I gotcha. Drop it off at a place that doesn’t have a clue what’s happening any more than I do and pay them outrageous money to tell me they don’t have a clue? That makes perfect sense.

Update. After speaking with a person with Uconnect today I was told this: if there’s not an update available online the only option is to take it to a dealership and tell them to reinstall the current version over the version that’s on there already. So, basically you got to pay a dealership to straighten out a problem AFTER you tell the dealership how to fix the problem. Makes perfect sense now. Thanks for all the advice. I’ll update if this fixes the problem.

Tell them you don’t want a diagnosis, just the programming. Don’t pay them to not know what they’re doing.
