2 Door Window Storage Technique

If you absolutely must have the windows with you, then yeah, you can squeeze them back there, but you stay remarkably dry with the top alone if you get caught in the rain (and like pina colada?).

Like JeepDave said, my windows stay in the garage when I take them off. It's way too much hassle trying to contort them into fitting behind the seats, IMO. Plus, you lose the little bit of cargo space you do have. I've had the windows off in light rain while parked and heavy rain while driving, it was really no big deal. The top edges of the carpet sides in the back got a little damp.

I live in Florida where rain is crazy sporadic. I'm more worried about the leather than anything else getting wet. But I found it does work as @OldGuyNewJeep and @richsteele advised

Definitely try to take the windows with you if you can. I've driven through storms just in safari mode plenty of times, and even though the rain itself doesn't usually come pouring in, it's the general humidity of a storm that will still saturate your interior.

I'll bet one o them "workout towel seat blanket" type things would keep the back bench seat leather protected in a pinch. I was pretty surprised by how dry it stayed back there the few times it happened to me... but, rain here tends to be more vertical, so maybe the sideways rain over in your neck of the woods is less forgiving.

This thread did get me thinking how easy it would be to have an emergency cover for the back of a soft top. You'd just need one continuous piece of vinyl/sailcloth that hooked into the vertical channels by the doors, maybe a few smaller sections of those plastic channel pieces along the bottom edge, so it's still easily rollable/foldable and some integrated nylon webbing/lashing straps to tension it up around the rollbar. I'll bet it could be stored in a very small area. I might bust out my wife's sewing machine and prototype it!

I tried to get it back there and didn't have luck the first time. Is there a technique on how to store the windows in the bag prior to attempting? Also did you have to tilt the back seat or anything prior to do this? Thanks man!!! If you have any photos it'd be greatly appreciated! I'm like a elementary school kid... I learn best with colors and pictures ???

Hey JimmyZ, I would take pics but my hard top is still on till at least mid april... the winter does not want to relent! The two door is exactly like the 4 only less room .
