I have the Mopar soft top window storage bag. The other day I removed the windows and put them in the storage bag for the first time and strapped the bag behind the back seat, as show in the diagrams. When I lowered the soft top it pushes up against the bag and there is not enough room to get the soft top down far enough to lock it in place. I had to remove the storage bag and toss it in the rear seat in order to get the top locked down.

Has anyone else experienced this? I’m I doing something incorrectly?

I just give the top a little extra push.

And you find that it does no harm to the soft windows in the bag?
I too have done it but I didn't like how you had to curl the windows in order to get it fit behind the seat. I now throw it in the back seat where it will lay mostly flat.

I have experienced that, found no solution.
Last time I wanted my windows with me, I put them behind the front seats as its illustrated for the back seat. But that doesn't work if you need people in the back seat.
Usually leave them home in the bag.

It just curls the end where there are no hard plastic slide pieces.

Covered in my review: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/mopar-soft-top-window-storage-bag-review.13235/

TL:DR - tilt seat forward a bit, put top down and lock, put seat back. Causes zero harm to anything. My windows exit the bag look the same as they went in. (I have a 2dr, if that matters.)

Cue the “I hacked a cheaper amazon bag with towels in between my windows” guy in 3, 2, 1... ignore if he chimes in. MOPAR bag works great.

Follow up question:

When removing the rear window, I do NOT remove the swing gate bar. I just slide the window out from it, as I do with the top channel, and I leave the bar in place in the tail gate. It seems to be snug in there and I’m not worried about it falling out.

Is this bad? Am I doing some harm to the window? I don’t see how because the bar gets slid out upon removal according to the official procedure.

And the bar seems to be very secure in it’s retainers. If I am ever worried about it falling out I can secure it with some straps or something but otherwise I’m happier to have it in its place rather than banging around in the back of the Jeep.

Thoughts?

This is the correct thing to do.

Thank you. Some people had reported the tail gate bar falling out, and of course the manual says to remove it, so I wasn’t sure if my way of doing it was crazy/bad for some reason.
