Just got off Jeep Chat. They are claiming mid-March now:

Amber: Hi, my name is Amber with Jeep Customer Care, How may I help you today?

Amber: Hello James, how are you today?

James: Hi Amber. I'd like to check the status of my 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL order. Here's my info:

James: 2018 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon (JLJS72) Order Date: 12/7/2017 VON: XXXXXXX VIN: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Amber: I would be happy to get you an update on your order!

Amber: Just one moment

Amber: Your vehicle is in the scheduling stage, so all the required parts are being scheduled and once they are all together it will begin the build!

James: So that is the canned answer everyone is getting.

James: I would like some accurate info. There are many rumors regarding delays on 2 doors.

Amber: The 2 doors are not scheduled to enter the build process until mid-March, so any 2 door orders will stay in this stage until that point.

James: So you say mid-March, yet others are saying early to mid April.

James: Production was originally supposed to launch on Feb 12 and FCA has not explained the delay. Can you tell me why?

Amber: The last update on the 2 doors was that they are entering the build Mid-March. This is not a delay, the 2 doors are not scheduled to enter the build yet.

James: okay-thanks

Amber: You're welcome, James. Have a nice night!

Jamesl: You too

realized my post sounded like a dick. I meant that you couldn’t order a 2L when 2 door ordering opened up so the orders that should matter to Jeep should be first in first out.
Haha, it's cool. There are dozens of us! Dozens!

I find it hard to believe that. I don't even see the 4cyl. turbo as an option on Jeep's website, and if it were more people would be going with the V6. I too am anxiously waiting on a Rubi.

Ok, so we heard mid-March to start the build process and April 9 along with mid-April starting production of 2.0t 2-doors.

I bet the mid-March is when some lucky few hit D1 and the parts start coming together. That’s the beginning of the “build process”. It sounds like actual assembly line production begins on April 9.

This wouldn’t be that bad if we didn’t have that tidbit about 2.0t’s going first...

Awaiting my response from @JeepCares - I’m 80% likely to cancel with the given info and waiting for a 2019 and/or buying something totally different off my wish list.

This has to be a planned delay to push the leftover JKs off the lots. Every dealer I pass seems to have at least 12+ leftover JKs. I noticed it when I went in to order my JL and now whenever I drive by a Jeep dealership I always look to see. Tons of unsold JKs littering the lots everyplace I go.:swear:

Actually it does because the JKUs account for over 70% of the Wrangler sales so far harder to push the 2dr off the lots these days

Ordered my 2-door last night. They told me to expect 10 weeks. He showed me orders from Mid December that he was just now getting an invoice for. They were manual transmissions which means no turbo. So if the dealer is to be believed then they are doing the V-6s first.

Hmmmm that’s promising, if you saw actual invoices. The plot thickens!

If any 2-door buyer needs a set of Mopar door sill guards, I have a brand new set never installed. Ordered by accident before I got my 4-door set. $50 shipped, tax free! PM if interested.
