Still in D status here as well. I wonder if they are building auto's before the manuals? Seemed to be the case with the 4 door. I ordered a hard top manual. Also heard hardtop production started the 12 FEB and soft top will be march. Guess we will all know soon enough...or not.

As far as I know auto's are the focus and March is the start date for two doors. Just because some have gone to D1 does not mean it is running down the production line immediately.

Literally anything can happen, but all the info has been 12 FEB for 2 door production. Starting with hard tops and then March for soft tops. Things change all the time though so who knows. Hitting D1 is still great. It at least shows progress to some extent.

As the OP, I'm really pleased to be the first to post into this thread with a scheduled 2dr build. Projected ship date is 11 days away so it sure looks like hardtop 2drs are being built now as per the plant timeline. Told I may get it around mid March.

Now I am starting to feel like some of the "4 door people". My 2 door auto hardtop rubi ordered on 12/6 with a ship date of 2/06 is still in D.

It's worthwhile getting another update since yours is from last week. The first reported D1 status for a 2DR that I've seen happened on Saturday and mine is today.

Why do you say March is the start date for 2 Doors when Jay's timeline says Feb? Is there new information? It is hard to keep track of the latest info with all the posts on this site.

Just ran into a Jeep rep last Thursday and grilled him over lunch. He said the two lanes running JKs will end and those lanes will start running JL Rubi and Sahara, two door production is about to start up in March, and they are focusing on auto trans, and std trans vehicles get made after. So thats all I know word of mouth from an FCA rep I had lunch with days ago.

I asked my dealer about my order and here is the reply I received on Tuesday the 12th. The Rubicon was ordered shortly after the sport but too late to stop the sport order.
Hi Fred,

The good news is that yes, the building has begun. I looked into your order & I do see that the first Jeep that we ordered you has a scheduled build week of beginning of March so, I am assuming your Rubicon will soon be scheduled. I will check every day & let you know if anything changes. I also have a few sold-order Wranglers on order that I am anticipating an update on. Keeping fingers crossed!!

Hey everybody, just checked status on my Rubicon 2door, hardtop, penestar/8speed, granite crystal ordered 12/19/17. Been in D status 30 Days. No build day set. Hypothetically, if build starts March 1 on my vehicle, our dealer probably won’t see truck for 10-12 weeks. See uploaded screen shot. Very frustrating......

I also think its somewhat balls that you order a car in December and its expected in the middle of the year. Doesn't seem right to me

Sorry, don’t understand the “somewhat balls” expression. I ordered in Dec.2017 with the full understanding that 2door production would not start till “after the new year”. Kind of vague, from my dealer, but I have no problem with an April dealer delivery. Not complaining, just explaining to other members waiting on two door JLs. Congrats to all the new JLU owners!

I'm on the Jeepgarage tracking list and I'm not seeing those kinds of numbers for JLU builds. Nominal times to delivery after build are in the 3 week range. There are recent ones that are as little as two weeks, and I don't think there is any longer than 4 weeks.

Exactly. I ordered in December knowing I wouldn’t see it until late spring. If dealers were telling folks 6-8 weeks, that’s where your frustration should be aimed. FCA was clear that 2door production wouldn’t start until Q1 sine their big reveal.
