Good for you, Dave! Don’t let Clif win the argument ! Lol
Christina, Oh I hate to lose. :giggle: Dave did find it on his build sheet. He will
get one and so should you. All the BS we put up with waiting we deserve
this small item. Let's not let Jeep get away with this. It is thousands in
their pocket because they think we won't bother with it. And yes my dealer
put on 5 as they really can't break a set. AND don't forget to get the socket
that goes with it --AND DO NOT PAY FOR THIS as you already have done so.

I know some people have bought the ace sliders, has anyone put them on yet? What do you think of them?
They just shipped mine out today for Friday delivery. Have had them on my last two JKs and loved them. Take a beating and hold up.
Mine are suppose to arrive Friday ;)

@Jax2578

AND please do give us a full report on what condition the shipping box was in upon arrival, did they arrive without damage, how they look, about the install, etc.. and of course pics.
------
Remember to torque to 80 ft/lb and use Blue Loctite.
Probably won't be installing until the weekend as long as the weather holds up. Fedex for whatever reason, absolutely is the worst out of UPS, USPS, DHL delivering to my house with damaged packages and highly perishable one-day items left on trucks for long weekends . I will take pictures of the packaging but I will place any blame on external damage in regards to packaging on Fedex first.

What size of Blue Locite should I get?
Does not take that much. A little 6ml tube will be enough. ($4.00+-) You have 4 bolts to use on. Put on the bolts and let set for a few minutes then install.

Loctite brand, Permatex brand.. My local grocery store even has it... 8-)

Cool... Thanks. Got to find when my dad is available this weekend to install the Rubicon rails and the ACE sliders with me. The shipping weight of the ACE sliders is half my weight (I'm a woman). :whew:

Damn... Ya'll are messing with an old man's mind... I was thinking ya'll was talking about wheel studs / locking lug nuts and I'm thinking "Locktite on lug nuts? WTF?" :)

Nevermind... Just having a brain fart...

Even tho it says all standard features, dealer is pointing out the optional in the title above this item

sweet, When i originally built my rubi back in feb. It had the red bezel on the jeep site, i ordered my jeep thinking i would get the red bezel, but after a few months jeep changed it to the silver bezel on the build site. So when my jeep was finally delivered it came with the silver bezel. What was i going to do? not accept delivery? We know that wasn't happening! I'm sure your dealer will throw you a wheel lock if you ask , I put a tire carrier on with different sized studs so the wheel lock wouldn't of worked for me any way.

Huh....

Recommended is medium strength which is blue in color. Get either the liquid or gel. Gel is a bit more expensive. I like the gel but to save a buck I use the liquid.
If i remember correctly the red is supposed to be a more permanent seal. Me personally i wouldn't be planning to take them off once they were on .

Sorry to here that. Pinching every penny is he ? I guess I should really
appreciate my dealer. They have always treated very good. I would still
press them for the Loc Nut. I do not see where they can get out of it.
And I do not see where it is optional, just standard with Rubicon.
Enough on this subject I'm done. I hope those of you who try do
get the LOC. It really is owed to you---use it or not.

If you don't use it Mail it to me !! :giggle:

Ace recommends blue/Medium Strength. Mechanic/ Techs, etc. will tell you blue/ Medium Strength. You do not want to use red!

Yeah, yeah....You aren't planning to take them off, but who the hell knows what the future will bring.

Maybe they creak, squeak and you need to get a new version as the JLU guys had to do... Maybe you get into a fender bender and they have to be pulled so they can do the repair... and on and on.

You do want to be able to get them off without a major pain in the future, if necessary.

Recommend you use the blue and be sure you torque to 80ft/lb,. just as Ace recommends.

Do know that RED Loctite is only removable once cured by heating up the parts it is on to 500°F (260°C).
