Rain always comes flowing in with the door open even on the JK's.. I always tried to park with drivers side to the higher side of spots when it is raining to avoid this. There is no rain gutter really always gets pants soaked :P

Did others have this problem with all the scattered rains we have been having? Didn’t see anyone else mention this. I have a hard top coming, but would like to get a soft top at some point. Seems this should have been engineered out? Plus the wrinkles on one side don’t seem normal. They should give you a new soft top, IMO

Ya Rubi is a nice package but its also 12k+ more. Lot easier to write that check for under 30k

My Jeep finally has a winch.

I had to cycle through three different plates:

JCROffRoad Steel Bumper Winch Plate

Dealership Mopar Winch Mounting Kit P/N 82215182AB

4 Wheel Parts Warn JL Rubicon OE Winch Carrier - 101255

Funny, Warn had two different designs for their plate. The one from the dealer was more expensive and didn't come with an adapter plate. (P/N 82215528AB) So more money. More money. More money.

The JCR winch plate ended up being a bit too tight IMHO because it was a bit too high and mounted the winch too far back and against the Jeep.

The Mopar part from the dealer came in many pieces, but they neglect to provide an adapter plate.

Also, the Mopar plate from Warn had two loose L brackets that attached to the front. They were an extreme pain to get in place as there was little room to tighten them with the winch in place. Setting them up without the winch was easier, but that left me shoehorning the winch back in place.

This was bad for my mood. (Later painted but damage done.)

The final Warn part from 4 Wheel Parts was "just right" with less pieces than the dealer's plate and a bit more than JCR's, though a more solid build with more room for the winch.

The only down side to the Warn part was that the skid plate needed a bit of modification to allow the back bolts to be installed. Other than that, it was my favorite of the three.

The extra weight (+110-125lbs) is noticeable. The front bumper dropped about 3/4" on the driver's side and about 1/2" on the passenger side as shown:

I'm sure it will settle even more as I drive, but there you go.

No I double checked - the buy was like $709 or $759 (around there) and lease was $609-$659. That’s why I was so shocked bc the leasing was always much much cheaper. Those prices make it look like something is wrong bc keeps website gave me proper calculations the other day.

It is my understanding the important issue is the price, not the monthly payments. What is the actual price?

Its white, I guess thats an extreme on the gray scale? It looks good with the black hard top though. and its got the limited slip for that amazing 3 wheel drive to get out of trouble.

Manual transmission and windows reminds me of being a kid again I guess. It makes no sense but its an upgrade to me lol

How did you fit in it? I found the seats very comfy. Did 11 hours in it yesterday and must say i do like the seats a lot.

After 11 hours of travel we made it to Folsom, Ca. We are now just the two of us, the other JK had electrical issues. We will spend another night visiting and prepping, then move towards the trailhead to camp tomorrow night. Hitting the trail monday morning. I must say that the seats were amazing. I have sciatica issues and the hours of seat time just seemed to cruise on by without issues. Im getting used to the mirrors and im liking them more now. Weather was perfect to go safari too.

I seemed to squeak into a 4 Rubi JL, it was tight but better for me than the JK (and the plastic bump of doom to the right of drivers head).

I have been assuming the 2 door will be same (and the sport cloth seat same as Rubi fancy lad seat).

Also thinking of bringing the boxers with me to speed up any haggling if I decide to buy today. Much like having your own orc army, once they get bored they like to play smash, and their favorite game of "surprise leap dog kisses" of people not paying attention.

I'm 6'3" 270 pounds and have 6 inches of extra pounds headroom. My new Rubi is awesome and my daughter loves it, especially the PST and Upgraded Alpine speakers.
