Nah, 4 dealers with in close range, and no rush. Wranglers are like apples you gotta look through the batches to find that perfect one.
If there's no rush, why not create the perfect apple?

Possibly, first need to see if I fit in 2 door JL (JK was a no go). Then see if I like the manual, and if I like the base sport or if need to go to a Rubi.

The base sport has the options I want, the Rubicon is a bit trickier but there are 6 coming in shortly, an 2 meet my needs. I like to do the test drive, its alot of fun. Its like dating vs buying a mail order bride.

Gotta get the one thats just right, and does not look like it was built on hang over Monday. MAil order brides often have surpises, go for the nice girl next door. :P

Where are you located?

Try the 4-door (JLU) to see if you will fit. As far as I can tell, the JL and JLU are identical in layout up until at least the back of the front seats. When I test drove one, I didn't think it felt any different just sitting in it vs the 2-door JL that I test drove later on. The JL will have slightly better acceleration since it is lighter, but I wasn't driving them right after each other, so I couldn't tell a difference. I also don't remember the JL feeling any larger than the JK, but I would not be surprised that there might be a slight difference. I suspect you could look up the figures on both the JK and JL though. I didn't consider the JL to be too small since I didn't hit my head getting into it. The same cannot be said for my wife's 335d. I feel like I'm trying to be a contortionist getting into that car since my head is few inches too tall to get in the door unless I move it all the way to the upper aft corner of the door opening and it still has to bend and hits the door opening.

When I first went to the dealership, I checked out several JLs with individual traits I wanted, since I would never find one with all at once. I checked out an ocean blue JLUR to make sure I liked the color in person. I test drove the only 6MT JL they had, a Rubicon, to make sure the transmission was good. I test drove and played around with a base automatic JLU to make sure I could handle the spartan nature of the Sport.

After I did all that, I determined that I could indeed live with a blue 6MT JL Sport! Do keep in mind that seatings, colors, transmissions etc are the same all around. And in a 2 door it'll feel faster than a test driven 4 door anyway.

Also, potentially consider the middle ground of a Sport S. Even though I make the big bucks now, I just felt I'm already at the top of my assigned budget, and frankly buying a $30,000 toy SUV is spurgly enough for 25 year old me.

Get in the club, PavementWarrior. I've enjoyed your posts for several months and want to see you finally pull the trigger like I did.

Good morning & happy Saturday, unicorn Jeeples! :sun:
You get up entirely too early for a Saturday morning...

And entirely too perky... :)

I agree, today was too damn early! Most days I can fall back asleep, but this morning my brain was ready to go! :giggle:
I'm still up from yesterday... It's like the old adage -- if you see an engineer at work at 8am, it means that he's still there from the day before. I had quite a few of those sorts of days back at NASA... Don't really miss 'em, but my waking hours can easily rotate throughout the week.

Well, Hillsdale is only 120 miles from NYC, so for some of us, that classifies as being there since it is so close. Good point. I can drive about that distance in Houston and still be in the Houston metro area.
Houston to be seems to go on forever, Hillsdale was primarily a farming community. Population 1800 still lots of open land.

Without getting in depth, red light has healing properties for skin. If your torn between colors red light has some benefits. Your choice tho.
Any light reflecting off a Jeep has it's own special qualities.
