2 DOOR JL build/order discussions master thread

As I understand it, the JL's are built in a different plant altogether & that the old JK line is to be retooled to produce the new Jeep pick-up (Scrambler).

The confusion caused by external suppliers trying to supply both the JK and the JL plants. Now, according to sources, all suppliers can focus on JL parts and thereby increase 2 door production at the JL plant. Makes no sense to me, but we shall see in the next few days.

I waited 6 months for my 2011 BMW 1M. Even back then BMW let you track progress on a website at every stage. I was even able to know which boat it was shipped on and used a ship tracking website to follow it across the ocean. I went as far as to find a web cam in Baltimore harbor to watch the ship come in. Once it hit the US I was blind until it showed up. About a week later.

I wasn’t expecting this week, but I do know I’ve been in KZ for close to a week. No idea how long it’ll be before it actually shows up. No one wants to give me an ETA

Yes I haven't received anything from dealer. As I said last 3 calls to 866 number
they told me it was on the transporter to be delivered. I am having a good time
talking to all of you. My wait is almost over and I am sure all of us will see
our Jeeps very soon. I can put up with with 2-3 day wait. Until then we all should
start to take it easy and talk positive for awhile. Whoever started the picture posting
thing thank you as we all had a great time. We need more stuff like that !!!

I called that Jeep Number and got the same answer that Jeep Chat gave me " Your jeep is built and ready to ship...but we have no clue when it'll be shipped." I asked point blank if any 2dr's had been shipped, and got the response "very very few" So who knows, there was a backload in Toledo to be manufactured, and now a backload at the rail station to be shipped.

I have 2 copies of my POC, one dated 4/16 and one dated 4/26 (ordered 12/15) The 4/16 has me in D1 with an ESD of 5/1 and the 4/26 has me back in D, for the fifteenth time, but a ESD of 4/30, great mine is shipping Monday!!!!!!!

Since we have time I have been looking into what kind of upgrades I want to do. Nothing too serious. Then I went to a Jeep shop a friend referred me to..... one that is 3 miles from my house. I am in so much trouble, somebody stop me!

Owner is a way cool dude, walked me through and showed me examples of things soooooo.... lookin like I will be his first two door JL. And he does this thing where he runs beginners through trails at a nearby off-road park. Starts with basic trails then works up with showing how to learn to find the right grooves, etc.

Quite a few 2d JK’s too. 4 doors are still wranglers, don’t knock them! We’re just better, that’s all. And we know it.

Correct, 4 doors are "Wranglers" 2 doors are "Jeeps"

BTW, I was "schooled" at Tech, you a "Jacket" or a "Dawg"?
