Both my '20 JLR and my '24 JLR-X had an annoying buzzing rattle that sounded like it was coming from just in back of the drivers door...It turned out to be the hinged OEM gas cap door assembly rattling on the sheet metal. To fix, I removed the assembly and put a small section (about 5x5") of self-adhesive sound deadening mat on the inside of the sheet metal just in front of the opening for the gas door. I also carefully laid a small strip of clear silicone on the edge of the opening before reinstalling the gas cap door.
Tip: I thought of this too late for me but the ideal way to fix this is to have a local tint shop cut a gasket about 3/8" wide and the same outside diameter of the gas door assembly out of thick clear-bra material and apply to body before reinstalling the gas door.
*Of course the factory should have included a damn gasket in the first place!
