I do it at least once a year on a MAX 10k kms interval. Changing tc + differentials + gbx oil next week as well along w/ filter and installing PPE pan.At which intervals do you change the oil?
I did change it every 20k kms for the first 100k kms on the engine. Now I do it every 10-12K kms because I heard that changing it on the recommended intervals led to sludge buildup in the oilpan.
The dealership uses 0W30 Shell Helix Ultra (I don’t have the time to do the changes myself and I do not like changing the oilfilter due to its annoying location). The dealership initially refused to change the oil before the recommended intervals but after insisting they do it anyways.
How often do you change gearbox oil? I haven’t changed it yet and I am now at 110K +kms. The dealership told me it isn’t needed yetI do it at least once a year on a MAX 10k kms interval. Changing tc + differentials + gbx oil next week as well along w/ filter and installing PPE pan.
I am at 103000kms.
So...Jeep says it isn't needed, the parts supplier, ZF, says it is. Normally 100k kms is the mark, unless you're driving often under "severe" conditions like towing, demanding 4x4 conditions, etc, in which case it should be half that, or close to I believe... Transmission Control Unit should be reset after oil change however, via JScan for instance. How often do you change gearbox oil? I haven’t changed it yet and I am now at 110K +kms. Where abouts are you based Emo ?. In my mind there’s a couple of basic things you can do to keep your turbo alive on the 2.2 diesel. Frequent oil changes and moving to a thicker oil something like mobil 1 esp x4 0w-40 which is only just a 40 weight so not too thick. The second is getting an upgraded pickup seal from JTD performance. I know of a few jeeps that have replaced the oil pump and not done the seal and had the same problems. Interestingly if you speak to JTD they will also tell you if your removing the oil pump you must check the screws and loctite them as they sometimes come loose. The third thing to do is buy a scan gauge to make sure you can see when your car is doing a regen. If you keep turning it off halfway through a burn you’ll clog your DPF and then knackered your turbo. I hope this helps.I get oil pressure low message and it goes into limp mode. Now Jeep is saying it's cheaper to replace the whole engine rather than just the oil pump and pickup.
Anyone had this issue? What was the fix?
Oh yeah you’re right. I’d gut the bloody thing and be done with it but that usually sparks a conversation in itself and detracts from the original issueDPF. Is it any use? I hear more problems than anything. Better to remove it completely?

normally you can hear it doing a regen, suddenly you hear more sound going to the exhaust, higher idle rpm and mine gives a yank when it starts doing a regenWhere abouts are you based Emo ?. I think that’s the thing because there’s no visible warning and people are busy with other things you naturally forget about it. I can’t recommend getting a scan gauge 3 enough in that case it shows when the car is doing a regen.I had problems with the DPF and since I had them I pay a lot more attention. When I am about to arrive at my destination I alsways make sure it is not doing a regen. If it is doing one I keep driving till it is finished
