The big round OEM beercan muffler was a no go for me not only because its big round size but I also didn't like how it makes the 2L i4 sound. I know this because when I did the muffler delete for about 1 year it makes a much better sound... but after awhile it was a little too loud inside the cab when I really push on the gas. It would vibrate the heat shield or something in the cargo area.
So after some research I choose to install the AFE Mach Force XP hi tuck ss muffler... Now I got the best of both worlds... the sound is perfect! Strong sounding without the v8 drone. It is also very compact and slim fitting. Here are some pics to show the clearance...

I have that one. Little loud on startup but worth the weight savings and extra clearance. Little guy from Wayoflife did a video of it.

My primary mode of transportation is a bike with catless headers and a slip on so YMMV.
Yes did it and loved the noise for the first 6 months but when you're cruising on the highway for long period of time that drone just got too loud. It started bothering me it's just a loud drone. a
Around town it's very cool the sound and worth it but like I said you're on that highway doing 60 or 70 for a couple hours or even an hour and that drone just started hurting my ears it was just annoying I put my muffler back on for now. Even people in my Jeep were like man what kind of muffler is that and I had people behind me pull up to me when I have my doors off and said what is that noise it's annoying. Some people may like it but it was just awful on the highway cruising I just got to know me with that loud drone people that have it you don't hear that loud drone like I said for the first 6 months I thought it was cool and loved it but then I realized it's was not the way to go it needs some kind of muffler

I tried a muffler delete pipe, and it lasted 2 days before the factory muffler went back on. A muffler delete pipe makes your Jeep sound like it needs a muffler, lol. The sound is quite annoying. I tried the MBRP muffler delete pipe on my 2.0 Turbo. Maybe on a 4 door it would be better as it’s farther back from the driver’s seat. On my 2 door, it sucked.

Yep. You're right at first I thought it was cool but then it got annoying it just has that drone it hurts your ears after a while. Several other people ask me what did you do your vehicle it sounds horrible like a drone people that were in other vehicles not Jeeps and even Jeepers ask me it's so much better now I put my Jeep muffler back on

My Borla S-Type Climber will be here next week, I'm pretty excited to get it installed. I was originally thinking about going with either the Flowmaster American Thunder axelback (potential drone and fitment issues) or the FlowFX Extreme catback (potential drone and I didn't like that it dumped before the axel) but eventually decided on the Borla.

This would be high up on my list, but the prices are insane for what they are.

It just so hard to find one that doesn't sound like those Honda accords running around

Agreed. I had considered one such muffler, but the brands are much too proud of what they sell. Even a tiny delete pipe is >$100.00.

Sub-C-note mufflers are sold all day at places like Advance Auto and Pep Boys. What pixie dust is aFe claiming here that would justify almost 6 bills for theirs? Stainless doesn't explain all of the price gap.

Yeah, really!

Doesn't aFe know that MOPAR has a monopoly on pixie-dusted accessories?

How does the afe sound? Any drone?
Well I have the 3.6L and sound is great. A little more aggressive than stock and no drone in the front seats... however I once rode in the back and there is a slight drone back there on the freeway, but pretty minimal and most wouldn't notice, but I was listening for it.

Love my S-Type Climber! They're not kidding about the No Drone too.

Cleans up the rear-end very nicely and now my compressor and battery in the storage cubby don't hit 100+ degrees on long drives.

With respect to the Wrangler's mission brief, wouldn't we want boots on those shock absorbers? Just curious. Having them would certainly extend the service life of the seals.
In some environments, sure. Up here where it's mud in the summer and salt in the winter, nah. It just builds up and wreaks even worse havoc.

? improved sound with more aggressive note for the 2.0L Turbo. No drone when cruising but a nice powerful sound when you're in fast lane. ?
