Who even knows what an American car is anymore. Do you know which car is built in America and contains the highest percentage of American sourced parts? The Toyota Camry.
Just don't mistake American with North American. Many do and as we all know, North American means Canada, USA and Mexico. For a long time the VW Passat was the champion of North America. Then we got BMW which has their largest plant in the world right in Spartanburg, SC. They will be celebrating their 20 year anniversary in a few months. On top of that, they export 70% of their product.

Check out this vid from youtube. They race a 2.3T Bronco against a 3.6 Wrangler and a 2.0T Wrangler. All stock vehicles from what I can tell. All running premium fuel. The 2.0t is definitely faster.
One of the better examples, the only difference I can see is the tires, both the 3.6 and Bronco look to have slightly bigger tires, but that's hard to confirm.

That's true. The wrangler 2.0t does have the more "street" tire where the other two are running a larger all terrain.

Keep in mind that the Bronco with the 2.3t is pushing 330hp on premium whereas the Wrangler is pushing 270hp. That's a 60hp advantage. The Bronco also has a 10 speed auto vs the Wrangler's 8 sp. I'm guessing with those bigger tires, the Bronco is also running lower factory gears which should give it better acceleration 0-60. The Wrangler is probably running the base 3.43 rear end. Looks like a sport model with base tires. Considering all that, plus some youtube dyno vids I've seen, the Wrangler 2.0t is underrated at the factory.

Ha! I just recently hit 6000 miles after 10 months of ownership! ?
That would be about the mileage of a garage queen after 10 months of ownership. :giggle:

That's like 20 miles a day.

Unless it only gets driven on Sundays which would be more than garage queen mileage.

But barely as that would be only 150 miles per Sunday. :like:

Just joking with you by the way.

I would love to keep the miles off my JL but something must be wrong with my odometer!

Just over one year of owning and I already have 18,000 miles. And that is with no extended trips. ?

Yeah, it does see its share of garage time, especially since I’ve had it topless for over a month now. And - Due to Covid, I transitioned to working from home, so no daily commute to work to run up the miles. ??

Just today, I surprised a built ricer when pulling away from a stoplight. It was neat to hear the change in exhaust tone when he saw what was happening and decided to lift his right foot.

I usually don't do that, having grown out of such behavior, but he was purposely pulling away slowly from stoplights when I was behind his vehicle in the same lane. When I saw the left lane open, I took my opportunity to get past him. And of course he plants his foot when the light turns green. Solly, Cholly, you lose this one.

See 3:44 of the video. The Wrangler has all-season radials mounted on upmarket alloy wheels. Likely one of the "Altitude" trims.

No shit.
If the 4cylinder turbo didn't exist the only option would be a boring v6. If I'm going boring, might as well go all the way and get a 4Runner.
Agree 99%. My brother in law has a 4Runner and I almost fall asleep when driving it because it's so boring.

The only thing that keeps me awake is I always feel like the mushy brakes aren't going to stop that Toyota.

I can't think of an engine in a Wrangler that would make me choose a 4Runner over a Jeep though.

Regardless of any of the choices you should invest in the long warranty through mopar and get a deal through one of the guys listed on this forum and not worry about the engine unless you choose not to perform maintenance on it
Watch out at your Jeep dealership as he may try and sell you some fly by night policy and if he does offer the real one make sure to bring some lube.... you'll probably need it ?
Not a bad engine in the bunch !

That's awesome. I'm sure the 2.0 has more in it as it puts out more power in the Stelvio. I'd be a little nervous to mess with it and perhaps void the warranty.

I’ve got the 2.0T:
Yes, the wife mocks me
Yes the neighbor kids mock me
Yes, guys ask me why I’m driving my daughter’s vehicle
Yes, my Hellcat gets better mileage
Yes it gets confused with an Eltrolux vacuum cleaner when accelerating
Yes, it has half the spark plugs and moving parts of a 392
Yes, it’s strong, reliable and compliments the Jeep
Lastly - Chicks dig it

It has 4X the spark plugs (16). Plus those puppies are not cheap and on those Hemis, they need to be replaced way more often than other cars because if not, they throw misfire codes.

Has anyone had any reliability issues with the 2.0 turbo 4 cyl?
I'm looking to buy a JLU and find several for sale with that engine.
Thanks
I haven't put enough on mine to know, only over 10K, but I've had no issues and the mileage is only getting better. Avg 12/L 100km all city driving. I have been using premium since I got it last year.
