Instead of replacing the faulty gear position sensor, they’re going to use software to detect when you’re driving in reverse (e.g. opposite spin of drive shaft) and automatically turn on your reverse lights and backup camera. This gives them an opportunity for a 2nd recall when they realize they are not turning on the reverse lights/camera before you start moving backwards and not actually addressing the safety concern.

It will take them 6-10 months to figure out a fix; using this as an excuse to delay producing 2024 manuals, an entire model year will have been skipped for the 6-speed. Queue announcing dropping manuals completely due to a "lack of sales" in 2024.

Or they will just replace the faulty sensor and the dealers will do a stellar job on the work and they can continue selling 6-speeds throughout the life of the JL.

Between this and 19A, Jeep is really shitting the bed. What’s happening in these streets. Still waiting for my 19A parts to available. And saw another JL burned up on socials the other day. What is it going to take Jeep????

12 months now of open safety recall (Z96) for ecodiesel Wranglers & Gladiators without a fix available. Jeep keeps bumping the timeline out further. Yet anytime I call or chat with @JeepCares the reps remind me my vehicle has an open recall. Without a fix. Same story when I've looked at trading it in.

Saw a beautifuĺ 23 2 door Rubi, sarge green with painted top and fenders, tan leather interior, manual up in Tenn grown to the ground with spiderwebs. They couldn't sell it and wouldn't take my 21 manual on trade either. This is getting absolutely ridiculous.

Dealers are going to be really hesitant on taking trade on any manuals until the recalls are cleared, at least for that specific vehicle. They can't sell them with an open recall and most dont want another Jeep just sitting on the lot. Been chatting with them, forget about a non-jeep dealer. That's the only thing holding me up from installing an aftermarket clutch, I doubt the dealer will clear the recall with a 3rd party solution...??

Carvana will still buy your Jeep. I got an offer for mine but I turned them down.

This is exactly what I would expect to happen and hate it...

I think they will keep the manual around til the next gen (JM?), but also wouldn't be surprised if they dropped it suddenly. Again recall for 6 model years of the JL, 3 model years of the JT, so at least 1.5 million vehicles and only 70k of them are a stick, crazy low take rate...
