I would still prefer the Chevy Colorado, not as much HP but lots of torque and to me far better looking truck.

Built a ZR2 I would get and it came out to $52k so another $4k for a 405hp-430tq Raptor seems pretty good

The biggest question is, which trans does it have.

The 10r60 in the bronco is the main reason I don’t have a bronco. The 2.7T bronco should be an animal 0-60 but it’s very underwhelming. The main reason is they opted for the 10r60, so they had to tune in a lot of torque managment. The physically massive 2.7T crew cab f150 is actually quicker 0-60 than the bronco with the exact same motor. This is because the f150 has the 10r80.

The bronco platform is based on the ranger platform, and the previous gen ranger actually used the 10r80. The previous ranger raptor released in Australia had a 3.0T and the 10r80, it is pretty damn quick.
They are saying this new ranger raptor has the same drivetrain as the bronco raptor, which is the 3.0T and the 10r60.

So the big question is, will this raptor get the 10r60 or the 10r80.

For reference, our 4xe’s and 392’s have the the 8hp75.

10r60 = 600NM of input torque
8hp75 = 750nm
10r80= 800nm

The grill looks similar to the new Wrangler grill with a FORD emblem across it.

Holy crap, that giant FORD logo on the grille is obnoxiously large.

FORD!! FORD!!! NO REALLY, IT'S A FORD!!!! ?

Looks pretty nice, otherwise. Really wish I could've bought my 2-door JL with 400HP/TQ (and for that price, not $75k+ 392 money).

And yet, within months, aftermarket clones of that fugly grill will be selling like hotcakes so people can bolt them onto other Rangers (or whatever). Sheeple will buy them, fender flares, and mimicking amber goober-lights for their grills like they're going out of style... (The amber grill lights, almost non-existent before the F-150 Raptor was introduced, now adorn everything with four wheels. A neighbor's kid has them on his Tacoma. I've seen them on Wranglers and Nissan pickups...) Sheesh. :facepalm:

Got to love spending 50k + for a mid size truck and not including rear air vents and ventilated seats

I was interested in the Raptor but I am not paying 60k +and not even getting basic comfort features

My 2018 Raptor came with both of those features, but the Monroni sticker was well over $70K, and that was over five years ago. It appears the Ranger Raptor is trying to capture the econo-Raptor market — for the folks who want the engine and suspension, but don’t want to pay up for frills. Given the rest of the market, the price is right where I’d expect it to be.

The Colorado ZR2 has so many more features for 10k less. Is it really worth to have 100 more HP for 10k but not even a sunroof, ventilated seats, heads up display, etc?

The market will determine the answer to that question -- because that's what the market does. For some folks, like you, less power and more frills is the right balance. For others, more power and fewer frills is the best balance. In a pickup truck, I've grown to appreciate more power AND more frills, but that doesn't come in a $60,000 package anymore. The diesel 3500 truck I test drove last week had a Monroni sticker well over $90,000 -- so I don't expect a performance truck with fancy goodies to be under $60K. Or $70K. It's a newly-inflated world.

My dad thought I was a complete idiot when I bought my first loaded diesel F-350 in the 1990s, for almost $30,000 -- because he bought 840 acres, dug a 3 acre pond, and had over a mile of driveway built for that price in 1960. In the 1990s he had much more money than me, but in his view no pickup was worth $28,000 -- or even $20,000. He never got past that. (So he didn't buy more trucks.)

As for me, I would happily pay $35,000 for a stripper 2-door JL with a 2.0, factory Mopar lift, a durable six speed manual transmission, Brembo brakes, Dana 44s, LSD, AC, retro-steel dash, analog gauges, Line-X flooring, half-doors, soft top, and zero nanny features or other options. Jeep would make a ton of profit on each unit configured and priced like that IF there were enough people with my preferences, but there aren't, so we'll keep seeing an emphasis on other stuff -- like bigger screens and faster music downloads.... It's the same dynamic at the gyms. All I want is good weight systems/benches/racks, good fans, and clean showers. What seems to matter most to the masses is good internet service (for texting and surfing), big TV screens, and comfortable seating at the juice bar... People who train hard are now a tiny minority in most Oregon gyms. Most gyms have been converted to texting facilities with gym equipment being used as furniture. It's a bummer when your tastes don't align with the masses that define the market.
