LOL! For a number of years I had two of them at the same time: a Rubicon for wheeling and a Sahara for winter road tripping.

It’s hard to pick an overall winner. If I could pick my top three, it’d be my current 2018 JL Sahara (Firecracker), the 2015 Sahara (Tank), and that 2013 JK Rubicon 2-door (Commando).

Picking the worst one is very easy: that 2018 JKUR Recon...

I get it, as a family we presently own six Jeeps and four of them are mine.

A 2006 Grand Cherokee Laredo. It was a 4.7l QTII with a Old man emu kit and some 255/75R17 BFG MTs that were pretty good at digging through the snow.

And a 2013 JK Sport. I was inspired by the Mopar skunkwerks project Pork Chop and stripped it down. No bumpers, no side steps, no spare, no back seat, no carpet. I swapped in some springs and shocks from a 4 dr Rubicon 10th Anniversary package, and put the lightest weight 35s and 15" wheels that I could. That thing was a blast to drive.

Engineer pass headed towards Animas Forks ghost town.

That was what I was thinking...fun trip running the Alpine Loop.

I've actually been contemplating building a WJ. I found an unmolested Overland model with Quadra-Drive and the V8 with only 80,000 miles but they want too much for it. It's probably for the best

Thanks, I stopped working for "the man" about 10 years ago and its been beneficial. It doesn't hurt that i can write off mileage or depreciate them on my taxes.

I was in Iraq when we bought the WK. I had found a great lightly used 04 WJ Overland online that I sent my wife to take a look at. She came home with the Jeep in the picture...

Still a fan of the WJ. They ride very good for a solid axle, and perform really well with Quadra Drive traction system. The only downside is the small wheel wells.

That’s a trip I’ve wanted to do for a while. Took the dual sport out two summers to run it and large sections were still closed in mid-July because all the snow that year.
