  1. Farewell - again…

Fair warning: Some people are going to get upset with this post. Me personally, I’m sad and conflicted. But also relieved. TLDR: I am selling the Sexiest Jeep Alive 2026 on Bring-A-Trailer. Instead of giving you a blablabla fishing for likes about how much I appreciate this community (which of...
  2. EVs suck. I’m done with them.

At least for those of us who do not have charge-at-home infrastructure and even then I don’t want to own one anymore. After a combined 8 years of full EV ownership this experiment is over for me. As I’m sitting at the ā€œfastā€ charger charging our BMW iX (full EV) family vehicle, mostly driven by...
  3. Educate me on bump stops and shocks: Metalcloak 3.5” lift with B8 8100 shocks

Gents and Ladies - does anyone run a 3.5ā€ Metalcloak lift with B8 8100 shocks? I am going to switch out my Rocksport Red shocks for something more meaningful. After some research, I landed on the Bilstein B8 8100 DSAs (non-bypass). My Metalcloak kit really runs closer to 4.5ā€-5ā€ lift. I also...
  4. When I needed it most…

Fresh off the press, just got home after a scary J**p event during the winter storm: Imagine this, you are driving your wife to her hospital night shift, because essential workers must come in to work during the storm and you of course chose to take your extremely capable rig to handle the...
  5. BMS JB4 & MY24+ GPEC5 Do play nice with each other after all

Update IV: After flashing to a new firmware, everything is now working as intended. Update III: After much forth and back we’re now on to testing the interactions of the JB4 with the RPM fan controller. There’s a chance you can’t have both due to CANbus reading speed. I think at this point it...

  7. AUX Delete getting cancelled by accessory ground

So I recently stated on here that I’ve finally pulled F42 and isolated the AUX negative cable from the IBS, zip tied away. I did so after one morning I woke up and the car wouldn’t start, and the jump starter wouldn’t power it up either. However, when working on my vehicle today, I saw the dash...
  8. Water fording->Water intrusion?

Let’s begin with a story: I once submerged a 4xe JLwindow-level deep in a small mud pit. I was able to drive the vehicle 200 miles home without codes or issues afterwards. Photos attached. My questions after the photos. Ever since, I’ve always wondered what ā€œwater resistant interiorā€ really...
  9. 2.0T: Factory air intake design - why is it double?

I recently noticed that my factory air intake has an intake hole in the engine compartment, right on top of the air intake box. But it also has an air intake hole in the passenger side wheel well, right below the air intake box. I understand this design is to accommodate cold air being taken in...
  10. V8? How about an off-road V12!

If any of our members here are well endowed, I’d like them to let us know what this one is like! https://www.topgear.com/car-news/modified/meet-elevato-a-modified-road-ferrari-gtc4-lusso-a-750bhp-v12 Or if you’re just 95% endowed, maybe a measly Porsche 911 Dakar will do.
  11. Insurance says “Off-road use is covered” - Take it to the grave?

I am insured with GEICO and I asked them today whether off road use is covered. They said explicitly yes - it is covered. That seems unusual to me but am thinking I’ll take it to the grave.
  12. Dealer(s) unable to service customers who didn’t purchase from them…

Quite unhappy with this (politely written) response from a local highly rated dealer. I guess it’s their prerogative and while they’re ā€œrespectfulā€ about it, it just makes the customer-dealer-brand relationship with Jeep so much harder.
  13. This is not a build-thread...

…but I never got the opportunity to show off my ride on here so below are some pics 😁
  14. The Corporate Saga Behind Jeeps Collapse

Bloomberg posted an extensive article today originally titled ā€œJeeps Collapseā€ and then changed name to the above thread title. It’s behind a paywall unfortunately. however, I wanted you guys to know ow that it is highly informative, very infuriating and generally depressing. Will post the...
  15. Questions for the Liftkit experts (MC 2.5” Lift kit)

About a week ago I installed the Metalcloak Rocklander 2.5ā€ Lift Kit, complete with shocks, relo brackets and front driveshaft. Overall I’m super happy with the kit - rides like stock, carries more weight and has more articulation. What more can you want! However, I do have two questions about...
  16. New York Sold: NY/CT/NJ - Rubicon XR Suspension (Like New Take-Off)

Up for grabs is the complete factory suspension from my 2025 2-Door Wrangler Rubicon XR, removed after fewer than 1,500 miles of use (practically like new condition). I installed a MetalCloak lift kit on my Jeep, so these OEM suspension components are now available for someone looking to upgrade...
  17. NJ/NYC/Long Island: Help a stranger and fellow Jeep enthusiast?

Hey there, fellow Jeep enthusiasts! I'm the new kid on the block in terms of wrenching and I'm in desperate need of some expert assistance. Would anyone be willing to lend a helping hand (and some valuable expertise) to a stranger in need? I'm looking to install a lift kit (MetalCloak 2.5") on...
  18. Another DIY project without experience (suspension components of my ‘25 2-door JL Rubicon with Xtreme 35-inch tire package)

As I wrapped up my full audio build, I’ve come to realize that I’m already longing for the next DIY project. This time around, I think I need to look at the suspension components of my ā€˜25 2-door JL Rubicon with Xtreme 35-inch tire package. Before I start though, I realize I have a few...
  19. 3 months and 400 miles later...

Nothing to see here... these are not the droids you're looking for.
