As one of those "friends" I suggested he left them that way to begin with.

Sound like a super smart group of guys to me.My friends keep trying to get me to strip them back to blue
Glad for it all to find a good home dude, looks greatWell I finally have a lifted jeep. Thanks to @Remorseless giving me a crazy deal, I got JKS 2.5" coils and front and rear LCA's, and some Fox 2.5's put on Saturday. It all went fairly smooth after i wasted an hour putting the jeep in the air, pulling the front tires off, and trying to drop the axle out enough to get the old springs out, just to realize that my 3 ton jack stands were too short for that. So put it all back together and got some taller 6 ton stands from autozone, and started over. Then after struggling with springs a little bit, @gek suggested taking the control arms off first, then pulling springs, replacing control arms, then springs, and then shocks. Seeing as he's basically an expert at swapping axles now, I did just that and it worked way better. After that it was smooth sailing.

Its riding great so far. I want to dial out some small bump sensitivity if I can. I still have a new drag link and stabilizer bracket ala @Roky to do, but replacing both front brake lines a few weeks ago seems to have taken care of my darting under braking issues.
My 35's look small now.
