Gotta keep the wife's car warmer in winter so she doesn't get upset when i buy more jeep parts
If you install them really fast she might not notice that you bought anything. Follow me for more marriage advice.

I'd thought about doing that. I found a full set of 392 shocks and springs somewhat locally for $300. I assumed the front would be too stiff with the weight difference to the 2.0.

Clearly you just need a big beefy bumper and a winch to tame the spring rate a little.

I had 4dr JLUR springs and shocks on it before and it was way too stiff. Swapped for the JTR red fox shocks and it was a super nice ride. That’ll probably be the route I go because the shocks are really stiff. The springs don’t seem any stiffer than the JLUR springs I just had on. I’m 330#s and the 392 shocks were difficult to compress by hand for me. The JTR shocks will compress much easier. Another thing is that the 392 springs even though they’re longer than the JLUR springs I had on, were much easier to compress down by hand to install.

I got my switches prettied up (somewhat) in a 3D printed box today and added a power port with them on top of the dash. Much better than having wires for 2 switches wrapped around the shifter.

DECEMBER ‘24

My stock tires were getting fairly low and it was getting close to the “nasty” part of north Texas winter, which mainly means ice on untreated roads, and occasional snow that doesn’t get cleared. So I started looking at tires. I knew I was going to go up from the stock 32’s, and was planning on sticking with 33’s until I read multiple times that 35’s didn’t change mileage very much over 33’s. SO, our very own @Tredsdert happens to live around the corner from me and was kind enough to let me borrow his wheels with 35’s that he wasn’t currently using. And what do ya know! Mileage only went down 2-3 mpg from the stock tires. 35’s it was!

I ended up finding a pretty sweet deal on a set of 5 Method 315’s with ProComp AT sport tires in 35x12.5x17 for $1300, with less than 5k miles on them. The only downside was they were powder coated powder blue. They did all fit in the back though!

Some very “helpful” friends (@gek and @J.Ferreira ) tried to convince me to run them blue, but I just couldn’t do it. Thankfully I still had a wheel plastidip kit from a previous car that I’d never ended up using, so the wheels got plastidipped bronze before they were put on.

At the same time I ran across so Fox shocks from a JTR for $50 and thought I’d try them out. Some slightly bigger bolts to fit the larger bushings and some spacers I machined at work, and they went on in the parking lot. They’re a better ride than the black Sahara shocks for sure.

I would’ve love to run those blue just for a bit 😅
