Sahara Grill Swap

I have a Sahara but like the more simple sport grill. I know that some people are painting the grill inserts on Sahara’s but I was wondering if I could just install a sport grill on my Sahara. Does anyone know if this would work? Thanks.

I thought you could not just remove the inserts because the Shara grill has clips/attachments That would be left exposed.

Did you just buy the black unpainted inserts and install like others have done or do they sell inserts with the Rubicon finish which I thought was more like charcoal?

All it took was a can of Rustoleum Peel Coat and a couple of hours.

A quick search online appears to have it for under $100usd at some of the Mopar sites, factor in if there is shipping etc for your total cost.

I'm in Canada so shopping online shipping from the US can be costly. I'll try calling a dealership, sometimes they can be cheaper or same as online.

Very carefully.

I want to wrap the wife's Sahara grill in chrome, and give the JL a YJ/TJ vibe. But she's not on board. Actually, no one but me is digging it. That's OK, I'll keep trying.
