I wanted to change my oil and therefore also change the filter. Whereas on the V6 petrol there are videos and moreover it is very accessible.

On my Diesel I have some doubts ... I did find something underneath that should be the filter box, but with a VERY difficult access

Do you have any idea if it's the filter box underneath, on the right side of the engine and almost surrounded by ducts ?

Thanks for your advice.

I think that's what I saw ... it is, in my opinion, well on the right side of the engine and really not easy to access with tools. Not to mention getting all the oil on it...

Jeep Wrangler JL where is the oil filter ? Motor

https://www.jeep.fr/wrangler/performance-moteur

Can anyone confirm that's what this is?

This is for the v6 3.6 L Petrol. So strictly no parts in the same place.

I notice that the 2.2 Diesel engine is really badly studied on a Wrangler.

To put an oil filter where we change the interior is very badly thought, a simple "old fashioned" filter thus out of metal and where we change everything would be MUCH simpler on this engine.

Thank you all the same for your help ;)

I wanted to order oil filters on Ebay https://www.ebay.fr/itm/372907741336?ul_noapp=true this company is in england

I have received my order and it was on time and the pills work great. But it's not the good ones.

It's just unbelievable that they can't provide the right filters.

As a result, sending them back will cost me too much in shipping costs, so I'm going to put my package in the trash :punch:

Did you end up changing the filter? How did it go?

I changed oil and filter for the first time today. The location of the filter is as per the previous post.
A 27mm spanner is required to fit the end of the filter housing. (I believe a 1 and 1/16 imperial will also do the trick.) There wasn't enough room to get a socket on the end of the filter cap. The spanner did the trick but access was tight so I had to keep reversing the spanner to take advantage of the head angle. Once the o-ring of the filter cap is clear of the housing, it is easy to turn by hand to remove.
One thing I did discover is a bleed nipple on the bottom of the filter housing. A 12mm spanner was able to undo this and using an 8mm plastic tube, I was able to drain the oil from the filter rather than have it run over everything below.
Oil and filter now changed. Not a quick process.
The o-ring for the sump bolt which is suggested to change is part number 46823518. This appears to be a Fiat part number.
I have read that some have had difficulty in resetting the oil life monitor. The on dash instruction says to push the OK to reset with the ignition ON, but engine not running. I think this works with the petrol motors but it doesn't work with the Fiat diesel. In another forum mention had been made of the Fiat process for resetting the oil life percentage. This process, which I found to work for my vehicle, is as follows;
1. Press ignition to On (two pushes) without touching the brake pedal. The engine should not be running.
2. De-press and hold the accelerator pedal flat to the floor
3. De-press the brake pedal 7 times whilst still holding down the accelerator
4. Wait for approx 60 seconds
5. Turn off ignition
I found that the oil life percentage changed to 100% during the 60 second wait phase.
Note that the above was performed on a right hand drive vehicle. I hope the access for the left hand drive vehicle is better with the steering box away from the filter.

unfortunately removing the filter even with right hand drive is really hard to do. I'll save your guide for resetting the oil. I usually used jscan.
