Looks great! I was looking for a red and white color combo as well. Do you have the part number for the extrusion bar you used to mount the led lights?

Hey guys, I'm getting everything together to tackle the project this week. I think I'll be wiring it straight to my aux battery in my genesis dual battery kit instead though. I'll also be using a different but similar type of switch.

But my question is, what kind of adhesive did you guys use to mount the light fixture? 3 M 1 inch wide strip?

I used 1" gorilla double-sided tape. So far no squeaks or rattles and appears to be holding fine.

In your photos, the led appears to be the majority of the width. Are you using more than the 1m channel? This is a superb idea that I plan on doing.
Thanks!
The 1m length is perfect. Though be aware, the window curves slightly where the corner mount does not. It still mounts fairly nicely, doesn't bother me at all. Just FYI.

This. And be sure that you use actual 3M VHB double sided tape - clean the surfaces with alcohol wipes prior to install and do it in warmer temps (not cold outside). It makes a difference and you want it to stay put on the trail etc. 3M is the way.

I have ordered extra parts to add one to the top of the tailgate itself. This could be very useful when going topless, yet still needing some light to access the contents in the back.

The LED strip is RGB so all colors are available with a controller. Are you getting red and white based on where power attaches to the strip?

The RGB+w has 5 conductors

RED -12v
BLUE -12v
GREEN -12v
White -12v
Black +12v

Without a controller, passing -12v to a single color will give just the single color.

The +W have a true White LED SMD chip alternating with the RGB chip

RGB+++W+++RGB+++W+++RGB+++W

By applying ground to both the RED and WHITE you get a very nice effect :)
