Clever idea!!I also googled my VIN this morning
My Sahara is eventually headed to Daytona, but currently outside Jacksonville. Past experience has been rail delivery to JAX and then trucked to Daytona. Hopefully, delivery will be this week. Here are my dates/status in case they might correlate to your situation.ho hum....called dealer.....he gave me the incredible news that the ETA is 3/14 - 3/18. which i knew last week. couldn't give me any other status other than KZ. no letter after KZ...nothing. something must have happened...something....![]()
would it have really disturbed the rotation of earth if the dealer said something like "oh...thanks for checking in. we just got word that your jeep is on it's way and should be here tomorrow". oh well...i'll keep on waiting.
not worth 25 to go to the other forum at this point to get updates and i'm so close that its not fair to take a spot if the tracking forum opens up anytime soon.
From what I can tell it's all automated and does NOT have any filters to weed out the sold orders. But then again, that might be by design so they show more inventory on the way to the dealer for those folks that don't know about ordering. Is it normal that I see my vehicle listed in dealer inventory online? I already placed my deposit and POC definitely shows sold order. They have no actual pics of the car (tracking doesn't show they received it yet), but VIN and all options match up.
Good to know, thank you. I'm super paranoid about some random stranger(s) test-driving my car before I arrive! From what I can tell it's all automated and does NOT have any filters to weed out the sold orders. Mine was showing off and on the entire train trip. Last I checked it's NOT on the site.
When I asked my dealer about "random stranger" they said not going to happen. Best bet is to just ask your dealer. I also don't want someone testing 0-60! Get visions of Ferris Bueller's Day Off! I wonder if that's what's happening to mine now - been "on the train" for just short of a month! Finally got rail unloaded on Sunday and I would guess waiting for local truck to deliver to dealer - I've given up knowing how it all works and I think I'm one of the lucky few who's been in transit for close to a month.Good to know, thank you. Me too! I've convinced myself it will be delivered the day I go on vacation and will sit there being messed with for ten days.Good to know, thank you. I'm super paranoid about some random stranger(s) test-driving my car before I arrive!
My dealer promised me nobody would touch my car. But... I don't know. From a salesman's point of view, it probably makes sense to ensure he has some backup offers in case I decide I no longer want the vehicle, so I can see him letting some particularly-promising buyer take it for "just a quick spin around the block".When I asked my dealer about "random stranger" they said not going to happen. I don't think they'd let a new customer drive someone else' order...But I bet they'd pull it up front and let them check out the color...(my sting gray will hopefully be the first in this area)...plus the staff might take it on lunch runs?My dealer promised me nobody would touch my car. No, it wasn't a real golden ticket (fine print excluded Wrangler)... just a false alarm! Just Jeep messing with our emotions some more! Haha! You may have a different ticket. Take a look at the fine print
THIS is what we should fear the most.plus the staff might take it on lunch runs?
Most dealers have a policy of not letting a sold vehicle out for a test drive. However, expect an employee to drive it at least to the gas station for the delivery fill up, unless they have a pump on site (rare). My dealer promised me nobody would touch my car. But...
