I assume the driver works for the ranch that uses that brand. And how dumb is that. Do you think Kellogs employees put a red K on their cars?
Only nerds would do that...
Or maybe its their ranch. And they are listing their vehicle as a "Company Car" during tax time and oh look here's my company advertisement on my vehicle. LOL

Man when I see that torture I think I wouldn't make a good cowboy.
I am surprised they still do this. Seems like they would use RFID tagging these days or even GPS tracking tags.

EDIT: I see that someone mentioned they ear tag now. I guess now that I think of it I have seen that around here.

I'm sure some big name Cattle Ranches do an RFID but the problem stems from the fact that sometimes Ranches will allow Cattle from other ranches into their pastures to graze etc and you need to easily locate your cattle amongst others etc. Thats whey they always had visual brands. it identifies the owner of the cattle.

How about when you eat a steak? You're basically an accomplice at that point. Everyone wants to eat meat until it's time to do meat eater shit.

I think it's hilarious that we grow these animals for the sole purpose of slaughtering them and devouring their flesh and people are all concerned about a little branding. All the black fraternities do the same thing to the new members.

The rear seat on my 01 F250 has a cattle brand on it. A horseshoe with an arrow going through it. I didn't notice it until after we bought it. It's very faint and shows in the proper light. I showed it to the dealer and they offered to order a new cover, but I thought it was a cool conversation piece. I'll snap a picture tonight when I get home.

Leather with a brand mark is generally a lot more expensive. Congrats on your super cool seat. You could probably look up the brand and figure out where your seat came from.

It's a 2001 Lariat. Predates KR Super Duties. Kr F150s started in 01, but Sper Duties didn't get it until 2003.

It's right in the center section of the rear seat bottom. I'll get a picture of the brand this evening

Man when I see that torture I think I wouldn't make a good cowboy.
Then you wouldn't want to know what they used to do with rubber bands and pigs. It's a surgical procedure now. Things used to be less humane than they are now.

As for the topic of slaughtering animals for food.
I'm not one to be unnecessarily cruel to an animal but I understand that killing an animal for food isn't going to be painless or always easy. First thing I learned as a kid, we don't name the animals we're going to eat (though some of my friends families did). The other big thing is, when you're hunting you don't take the shot unless you know you've got a good kill shot. Don't injure the animal with being able to take it, and don't take a poor shot that makes it endure a long slow death (likely preventing you from tracking it and collecting it).
How about fishing? Fun sport? Only if you're eating the fish. Yes you have to throw back the fish that are too small to keep, but I'm not catch & release just for fun. You're dragging the fish out of the water by a hook through the mouth, that's got to hurt. If I catch it, I eat it (assuming it's of legal size to keep).
I have no problems eating animals, even knowing it's not the always the nicest process. I can assure you the bear doesn't care if you're in pain while it's eating you. Don't be cruel just because you can be, but I'll eat an animal and not feel guilty about it. Mmmmmm meat (especially chicken).

I found a pic in my google photos of it.
That's actually pretty cool. And as noted, typically more valuable due to its uniqueness.

I would probably refer to this one as arrow D. Could be a lazy d, but it can only be guessed as to how it was oriented.
