Sorry, I was going by the builder on msrp, at least right before I posted that. Nice that they can't be bothered to update that at all. Really impressive company, they could care less about accuracy at all. You would think they would at least have one person keeping that configurator updated. The electronic package has been $200 low since launch and now that they update that, the msrp is wrong. Guess they care less about springing surprises on customers when they go to order. And the dealers just shrug and say, oh you can't go by that. It's a good thing for them that no one makes a comparable vehicle. And a 1-1.6% increase before they even finish filling orders from November and December. Maybe they need the money to buy more soft tops. Rant over.

When I ordered my JLUR from Doug at Bob Baker he asked me to write ā€œI agree to this priceā€ and circle the TL discounted number. He stated that if Jeep bumps the price he can go back and get the diff refunded by FCA. He was looking out.
Sweet. I have an affiliate code as well that I’ll be using and my salesman said he’s pretty sure he can get it back down to the original price we agreed on. Now just waiting for allocation to open up and hit that D1 status.

I wouldn't get too excited about D1. I got there in 5 days but have been there for 29.

If you think that's bad, we Canadians just got our configurator 2 days ago! And it's probably out of date already.

Twenty years ago, MSRP was the starting point to negotiate a car price. The internet (Edmunds, Cars Direct, etc.) let buyers peek behind the curtain and learn about invoice pricing. So that became the new starting point. But as someone else pointed out earlier, invoice is a made up number just like MSRP. I bet we'll see them move closer together as more buyers do research online and come into the dealer informed.

Is that on MSRP but what about invoice?when I look at the configuration now it say for the rubicon 4 dr
Msrp. 40495. Net price 41695. Which is 1200 and that is suspiciously close to the destination fee. Could that be it?

So it still says 40495 for msrp and then net is 41690 not 695 which is 1195 and the destination charge. Then in the summary part it shows the base as being. 40495 with a separate number for the destination fee shown below

Exactly! How very true. A friend of mine at my dealership told me the exact same thing yesterday.

LED's and dual tops. Unfortunately. But my 2017 has the led's and they're great. And I need the hard top for the winters and the soft top for the summer, plus the price was so high anyway, I wasn't going to skip anything I really wanted. I bought my 17 off the lot without a soft top and spent a month looking at allegedly "new" soft tops on craigslist and I didn't want to be bothered with that again.

I love Jeep Wranglers, but it is official - I HATE FCA; maybe the worst ever?

So for what it is worth I heard back from my dealer and they confirmed that since I locked my price on 2/28 I would not be affected by the increase.

I explained to my wife that my obsessiveness and taking a 3-hour round trip on the 28th to lock in my deal saved us $500.

She wasn't as impressed by that as I thought she should be.

There's no more to get straight. I posted in this thread, post #3, about the increase being true. I'm in the process of ordering now and I know it to be a fact.

You order today, you will pay ~$500 more for a JLUR than you would have 2 days ago. That's the sad truth.

I agree that's it's especially bad for the ones who have been waiting to order because of colors or certain options not available yet. They get socked with the increase before they even had the opportunity to order.
