Does anybody know the ratio ... like how many 4-doors for every 2-door??.
For the 2017 model year, the ratio was almost exactly 4:1. JKU’s were 80% of total production with only 20% two-doors.

Everyone is asking why FCA does not make an official announcement with an update on production. If they had good news they would release it. They don't want to go out of their way to tell us about delays and explain why they failed to start on the original production date that they promised to customers. If they were to explain the reasoning for delays, the customers would then demand a new updated schedule with a hard production date. Why would they want to provide another date? This would only give them another opportunity to fail to meet the expectations of their customers. Therefore they are choosing to leave us in the dark.
Any communications expert will tell you this creates far more problems and customer animosity than it prevents. FCA doesn’t have to give a firm start date or a detailed explanation for delay. I’d bet that the delay doesn’t have a simple explanation, because if it was one simple factor, that would have been resolved by now. All you really need to manage the commications is to be transparent in providing targets and updates when changes warrent.

FCA was on that path in communicating the initial Job 1 target of Feb 12 and then went badly off the rails as that date kept being pushed out numerous times without official confirmation. Most people are willing to accept setbacks as long as they are updated on what affect that will have on them. That’s true even if the answer is not fully detailed because of uncertainty. We just want to see forward progress and have the target become more definitive with time as uncertainty is addressed.

They told me today about the 2 doors are being pushed back to April because of the popularity of the 4 doors. What they can't build both simultaneously. Bull shot. Canceling mine will re-order 2019 model. Just hope all my pre ordered accessories fit.

Yep- this could become a problem, but I can’t say I’d blame people if they did the same if they’re expecting a a NEW model year vehicle and that year is already over half way done.

I’m in the opposite position since I plan on keeping this for a very long time. If I can get a great deal by getting it on clearance I won’t complain if it’s already late 2018 / early 2019 when I finalize whatever 2018 2 door I want.

I probably will change my mind and wait it out. It just hit me wrong with the reason given by Jeep chat. Growing inpatient because I sold my 75 fj40, my Can-am Comander, and 2 Polairs atv's to afford it, nothing to wheel. It also pisses me off because all I here about is the "iconic" Jeep and guess what it's a 2 door.

You might be the most optimistic person in the world!
Oh trust me, I had myself alllll kinds of worked up about the delay & the wait a couple weeks ago. As of April 14th, I'll be without a car when I have to turn my lease in. Ahhhhhh!!! But then I realized oh well, not worth the stress. It won't make the production go any faster. I'm doing my best to stay positive & having one hell of a good time here in the forums. :)
