Does anyone know if the 2dr Rubicon JL with Alpine speaker option loses the cargo tray area? I ordered a Cargo Tray Liner for my ordered 2dr Rubi JL and now after the fact am wondering if Ill even have that cargo area available.

I believe that is where the 2 door subwoofer sits. So, I don't think this will work...

You might want to reach out to one of the Vendors on the site to confirm.

Well, indeed, by your pics. it looks like I purchased a Cargo Tray insert I will not be able to use. Paid $31.00 from eBAY seller. So, guess I have a new Jeep logo tote unless someone local to me in NY (zip-12574) wants it for $25.. 8-)

It's amazing how much JL OEM stuff is already on eBay!

There are two 2door reviews on YouTube that I’m too lazy to find for you. They confirm that alpine sub fills up the cargo area. Sorry, bud.

Just found a walk thru video of the 2018 JL 2 dr. and indeed the Alpine sub fills that cargo area. So, I have a new Jeep logo tote, unless someone local to me wants a deal on one. Ho, ho ho..

Hopefully this thread keeps a few other 2dr JL guys from ordering the tray. NO mention at vendors like Quadratec, etc. that does not work for 2dr with Alpine.

Note: I just listed my new in the box tray for $22 in this forum's Member Market Place/ Internal for sale area. Tray retails for about $31.00+.

I'm not liking the fact that subwoofer is mounted on the floor with what looks like a rather open grill. I can see that pumping sand and dirt along with air.

Holy hell, the only storage area in the vehicle has the subwoofer mounted in the floor?! I thought it was in the footwell on the passenger side. Where is it mounted in the JLU?

If you wanted to ship it to me for $22 I'd take it off your hands

It’s the same location as the previous 3 years, and it’s been fine for me, it’s realtively self-cleaning, ejecting back through the grill.

The side, like the old Infinity Sub, taking up a bit of cargo space... although less space and less intrusive than the old Infinity one.

How sturdy was the floor mounted grill in your JK? I'm also concerned about banging that up since the JL will be my only vehicle that can carry larger heavy goods. My only experience has been with the side mounted Infinity sub and that was never problematic for me.

It’s been pretty good. I consistently put gear on it during the winter, and it hasn’t deformed (although I don’t put any small item right on it, which I’m sure would bend the mesh if forced). It’s flush with the floor, and the stock carpet cutout makes a slight elevated rubber ring around the outside.

Funny you should mention no issue with the Infinity, I cracked the Infinity’s housing because a golf club (iron) slid out of my golf bag when putting it in the back unbeknownst to me and it got squeezed between the swing-gate and the sub, cracking the sub, with a crack all the way down the side and a nacho-chip sized hole in it. Threw out the cracked piece and gorilla taped over it to return some bass and eliminate the vibration afterward.

Never liked having the sub in the very back of the Wrangler, prefer the new position further up to avoid a repeat, although it’s also more flush than before, so less of an issue. However, as I never used the small cubby-storage but use every inch of the above, I prefer the current/latest/last JK(U) and JL location vs the JLU.
