Doc... Duh.
This would be my take. The Jeep was on par or bested each in every area but two.

The tow it failed which is more a mark of its weight compared to the other larger SUVs.

The breakover it failed. But of course for the $250k of the Benz you could probably buy... I donā€™t know... maybe 100 lift kits. Lol.

To me these comparisons are absolutely pointless. The Jeep is the one you want to have off road. Why. Because you can actually afford to get it dirty and it will do what you needs it to do.

The g class is a beast that will never see dirt. The land cruiser is an overland monster. But worse than that it can get stuck.

They aren't wrong about parts/service availability world wide. If that was a factor, a Toyota might be a better choice. The G Wagon is indeed a beast offroad. The 5 people who have G Wagons and drive them offroad can attest to that.

The pull test was horseshit and I wouldn't be surprised if it was added simply to give the Wrangler another loss. The Wrangler has never been a towing vehicle. He certainly isn't wrong that the wheelbase of a 4-door isn't doing the JL any favors, but in typical Gawker fashion, Jalopnik sensationalizes everything to help spoonfeed it's ridiculously smug audience. I wonder how a Grand Cherokee Trailhawk with a Hemi would've compared.

Iā€™m glad the writer of the article ā€œdid not get itā€!!!!!! If everyone got it, just imagine what would happen...... EVERYONE would have a Wrangler. He probably loved the AMC Pacer!!!!!

ā€œJalopnik says-ā€ stopped caring right there
The title of this thread is misleading. Jalopnik didn't say "Rubicon Loses to Prado and G-Class". Diariomotor did. Jalopnik is just reporting on the video.
