Hello,

I saw your Jeep Wrangler 2018+ on this post below and was hoping to copy your setup.

https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/which-winch-for-jl-wrangler.6264/page-2

Would you be able to confirm this is the correct setup?

Winch - https://www.extremeterrain.com/warn-vr10s-10000-lb-winch-w-synthetic-rope-1.html

Winch Mount - https://www.rustysoffroad.com/rustys-winch-mount-2018-jl-wrangler.html

Bar than comes off the front bumper -- ??? I cannot find this.

Thanks so much!

Thank you.

You are correct on the parts and the hoop is a Mopar Bar.

You can get a better price at other stores.

Let me know if you need anything else.

I added driving lights to the hoop.

Hey guys. I just joined because my I helped my GF pick up a 2018 JL Rubicon 2 door.

I am looking at the Smittybilt 98495 XRC Synthetic Rope Winch to add to it.

Can someone tell me exactly what all I will need?

Just the rope winch and the mounting plate? Will any mounting plate work? Warn etc?

Anything I am missing?

I noticed some winches are waterproof, would that be a concern for trail riding and light mudding?

Thanks!

I am trying to chose a Winch for my Rubicon Steel OEM bumper. appearance is important to me on this mod, My OCD cant stand exposed wires or anything that is Asymmetrical. I also dont want to add too much weight to the front bumper. I am leaning towards the Warn Zeon but I feel that they are due for an update. If you check out the ATV winch line the Axon line looks years ahead of the zeon but obviously maxes out at 5500 lbs. The consensus is that you want 1.5x your vehicle weight but I am even considering mounting the little Axon 55-s and giving it a try (I wheel with others that have HD winches as backup). anyone know when either the Zeon or the VR are due for an overhaul?

Honestly I'd spend the extra 70 bucks and go with the X20. I know it will fit this Warn winch plate: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BMZTJHF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I also know that this winch plate will fit in a Rubicon bumper from the reviews.

I threw away the bumper on my Sport:

As @JimLee said, the X20 is a great choice and is waterproof. Mine is mounted with the Warn winch plate that he linked to above. Here's the X20 10k synthetic winch mounted on the Mopar steel bumper with a flip up license plate holder:

I was thinking about going with the same set up as you @TJ2018. I was just curious, from the pictures the x20 looks really close to the grill. Is it really close or just looks like it in the picture?

Close but fits. The cables might be pressing against the bottom-most part of the grille trim but I'll never see it (or care if it does). The winch itself does not touch the grill.

Any updates about Superwinch? Is it worth the risk to consider versus the Warn Zeno Platinum-S?

Anyone else notice that the Warn Zeon 10s installed on the metal bumper doesn’t allow you to disengage to completely turn to free spool because the bumper cut out isn’t big enough to allow the knob to fully rotate?
