My JLU is my only vehicle. I love how it drives, on and off road. Don’t want to change that.
I’ll get more aggressive tires pretty soon, but stay with 245/75R17s.
I know....BORING. So be it.
I would like a wider stance though, if it wouldn’t change anything else.
Would it?

I don’t think there’s any down fall from using spacers, I’d suggest using hub centric spacers if you decide to use them.

Hub-centric seems self-explanatory, and a no-brain choice, but which ones are?

Nothing that you will notice, but Anytime you change tire sizes or the geometry of the wheel alignment it is no longer the same spec from the factory so handling, tire wear, steering, and ride is changed.

Just ask about them when you order them. Most places have both options, hub centric and lug centric.

Ok. I’m in the happy space of 3 of 4 repliers/ likers being men whose input I have come to trust, and the other sounds reliable too. . Lucky me!
So let’s cut to the chase. Which ones should I order?

I would use hub centric if it was me, I like the fact there’s that extra element of attachment, to ensure a tight, factory like fitment.

What brand and thickness would you buy? Err on the side of conservative.

It really depends on what you’re looking for, it’s a personal preference thing. You can jack up your rig and pull your wheel off the lug bolts till it looks good and measure the gap. I now some guys running up to 1-3/4”. Google “ wheel spacers Jeep jl “ and you’ll probably get to many choices. Spidertrax, Synergy, etc... Remember in this case, you do get what you pay for......:)
You say “you get what you pay for”, but you refuse to recommend a brand!
What’s up with that? I should just pay the highest price?
Help a brother out!

FYI - if you want to get someone's attention mention them with an @ symbol in front of their username, like this - @UKCATS. He does seem like he knows a thing or two...

Lol, all I’m saying is don’t buy acme brand, stay with name brands. I personally like spidertrax, but synergy is good too. I don’t know about rough country. Look up Lenny stahl brand, I’m not sure if they make for Jeep, but I just put them on the wife’s fpace and they are very well made.
