Got the front portion of my Metalcloak 3.5 game changer lift installed with Falcon 3.3 shocks. The Metalcloak front shock relocation brackets had one hole that didn't line up on either side. I thought about calling Metalcloak Monday but decided to take a die grinder to the holes. My rear smittybilt bumper came with a license plate bracket that mounts to the top 2 lug nuts of spare tire. Unfortunately the Teraflex spare tire carrier has a tail light in the same spot. I decided to use a small piece of angle iron and mount license plate bracket to 2 bolts on beadlock.

Considering the retofit lamps only the LED Diodes are in the fixture and the driver/engine are external along with the heatsinks, makes the lamps a great sort term solution considering I spent $50 for both and I do not run head lamps during the day. I have owned the Wrangler since Sept. and driven at night only once. Frankly with little to no burn time they may likely last many years especially here in the NW with daylight till 10pm in summer. Now for warmer southern climates I would predict a much shorter life including for the foll LED head lamps since heat is the #1 factor determining lamp life.

People think that LED is the wholy grail of lighting, while it has great performance it also has significant weaknesses. HID lamps while not very efficient can manage heat and cold environments with little to no issues, LED is just so sensitive to heat. What is not discussed is LED diodes in general are very solid and has a long life, it is the drivers (transformers) that are the weak link of any LED system.

Look I am just not willing to throw money at Headlamps and tail-light fixtures especially with aftermarket fixtures, as you are basically a beta tester since they are all new to the market.

The commercial LED industry 5-10 years is typical warranty (never under 5). With that said 1 year is redicules shows the manufacture has little confidence in their products. If you are going to buy LED lamps make sure good warranty and reliable warranty support.

Who knows my retrofit lamps may outlast the proprietary LED headlamp fixtures, know one knows at this point as it is all a beta test.

You will also see LED head lamps and full head light fixtures that also use fans to cool them which is just another moving part to fail.
Way overthinking it, there’s already quality products on the market, buy QuakeLED and end the conversation. Enough said.

Quake $600 for 6000K (Kelvin) should be 5000K for that $$$, Only 1-year warranty, that show confidence (sarcasm), Automotive LED should be minimum 3-5 years.

Read this part of their warranty:

"The product must be returned in its original packaging providing all necessary protection of the product while being shipped. Quake LED will return the repaired or replaced product to the purchaser. Quake LED does not provide purchasers with temporary replacement units during the warranty period or at any other time."

Ok so when/if you have a failure you take the grill apart and remove the headlight then put the grill back without a replacement then send it back to them, wait in line while it is repaired, wait for them to send it back (assuming they do not think the failure was not manufacture related. then you are buying another one). Take your grill off again and install the new light, put the grill back on. Then if this happens after the 1st year it will cost you another $300-$600 every time.

How do you know something is reliable when it is less then 1 year old.more like 90 days.

Look you can spend $600 for that, your choice, however for me I would rather put $600 on black on the roulette table. Check it out they do not even have a functioning website.

They are probably decent lights but at this stage you are a beta tester for them, I get it some people just have to have them, Although hat's a lot to pay for un-proven tech with a short warranty,

Im too dumb for this, could you explain the reason for doing this?
Most owners will do this when they buy larger tires and/or a beefier tailgate. A while back I installed new wheels with different backspacing/0 offset from the stock, creating a gap between the spare & tailgate bump stop. Ultimately, it's for additional support & reinforcement of the tailgate. Keeps the spare braced against it to prevent any movement.

Just finished up installing my Artec rear inner fenders, no more rubbing at full stuff....
How was the install? I have the ACE front inners, but haven't installed yet since they're a bit of a pain.

The way I did it, a pain in the a....! I highly recommend that you take the tire off and remove your fender flare. If you do that, it’s a 10 minute install. I was an hour on each side :swear:. Don’t pay any attention to the instructions when they say you can do this with the tire on, maybe a stock tire, but not a 37. Lol. But they’re well made, and pretty good fit. You only have to drill one hole, for one fastener the rest of them went in existing holes that held on plastic liner. They’re 3 pieces each, some symbly required. And they come bare metal so you’ll have to paint or powder coat. Sorry for long winded reply, coffee’s kicking in....:giggle:

Similar to the ACE liners... easier with the tire off. You put some good work into it.

And the more detail, the better...it's good information. Thank you, fellow early riser.

Yes. Which I was a little disappointed in actually. The video for the JK version uses screws on the pinch seam. I thought it would be the same.

Heres 1 flaw i noticed. Theres a portion of the pinch seam near the front wheel that sort of doubled and has 2 screws holding it all together tight

I didnt think it would make sense to try and lay it over that since the screws would cause the guard to bulge out and not stick correctly. So removed, applied guard, drilled hole into the guard, tightened screw back OVER the guard

I think i might go back later and apply screws where i removed the rubicon rock sliders from. Sort of like the JK version of the guards

That makes much better sense to screw them down, I'll be doing the same thing.

Hi! Just picked this up yesterday. I'm new here and this is my first jeep! Only thing even remotely similar was my 76 bronco. But this thing is AWESOME. I love it! Was kinda kicking myself for not getting the hard top until yesterday afternoon when the weather got pretty nice! The top took me MAYBE 5 minutes to remove windows and collapse the top! Had to have my dealership get it from another dealership 2 1/2 hours away just so I could get a 6 speed that's was a neutral color and had power windows/locks. I thought that was CRAZY! Almost no one around me has 6 speeds at their dealerships anymore.
Like I said I'm new here so any tips, tricks, and advice is more than welcome!
