So those 2 extra doors are costing me 3mpg? And by the way, premium is recommended, not required on the 2.0
Our extra doors must be extra heavy. :giggle:

There is a thread in the 2.0 section of the forum that discusses gas mileage. There are several griping of their "disappointment" in only getting 15-20 mpg in their 2.0. Like Sean, I'm only going off my own personal experience and those 2.0 owners that share their experiences. Much of gas mileage can be impacted by mods (extra weight), tire size, driving style, city vs hwy, terrain, etc.

And yes, that's why I said in my post that premium is recommended. ;)

Driving style is probably the biggest factor here. Driving anything (Toyota Prius, Jeep Wrangler, ect) aggressively will use more fuel than light acceleration and driving the speed limit and so on.

I would hope that someone throwing 37" Mud Grabbers on their 2.0 doesn't expect high mileage after that, lol.

Thatā€™s all Iā€™ve seen here in MA...all are 2.0

Get the 2.0 and don't look back. It is the best engine I have had in a Wrangler. I went wheeling yesterday, and it was perfect in every situation... Then on the drive home... I had burned though just under an 1/8th of a tank when I reset the mileage.

Pretty much right around where I was when I test drove the 2.0 Rubi. :) I'm usually 20-22 with my 3.6 Sahara.

On another note, I walked away from my brothers 2018 JK Rubicon Recon the day before yesterday in an impromptu race to 80 mph. This was before I was able to get filled up on premium fuel, as I was still running on the 87 that the dealer had "pre-installed".. ugh.

So the one they found me is in fact sting gray...I was looking for white or punkā€™n but now Iā€™m not sure what to do...I like sting gray, but is it too flat of a color? Do I get a 3.6 or 2.0, white, gray or orange, keep my 18 or get a 19 rubicon, order or not order...if they only offered the anvil color my life would be easy...

I would venture saying that a 2.0 Rubi would be a good Daily Driver without sacrificing any capability. However, ordering exactly what you want has an appeal. :)

Sure, itā€™s recommended. But why buy a 2.0 to not reap the benefits of premium on it? Doesnā€™t make any sense to me.

You already have a JL. I don't think you'll be happy NOT getting the exact rubi you want.

Order it. or put a post in the forums telling sales to find you what you want.

Isn't there a break in period like most vehicles? You were racing on the same gas that was put in by the dealer? Trying to seat the seals ;)?

From what Iā€™ve read in the forums and seen locally, most dealer lots are full of the 2.0s. Seems that thereā€™s a push to sell those for some reason.
The Moab only comes with the 3.6. I donā€™t Understand why thatā€™s not the case with the Rubicon. We have at least 5 dealerships in my area. I checked the largest (258 Jeeps) and found 28 Rubicons with only two 3.6 4-doors. There were two 2018 but new body style 2-doors with 3.6. Columbia Jeep, TN. Numerous Rubicons at my dealership but all 2.0. Franklin, TN

Get what you want. I almost settled for a color and engine choice I didn't originally want and I am glad that I ordered and waited. It almost killed me having to wait, but it was worth it in the end.

Never considered buying off the lot. Knew that my JLUR 3.6, configured my way, would not be exist on local lots.

I have been factory ordering my vehicles since 1990, primarily because dealers donā€™t seem to ever have the combination of color and options that i want, as was the case in my new Rubicon, in doing dealer searches out as far as 500 miles the best i could find was 10 of 20 in matching my specific build. It always take some time when you factory order, BUT SO WORTH it in the end when you drive it off the Lot.
