What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

I completed installing some cab lighting today. Brawlee led on the glass and an LED strip on the the top of the cab. The LED strip in the cab is glued onto a velcro strip with the other half of the velcro adhered to the headliner with iron on Velcro.

Both lights are controlled by switches with the LED in the cab tapped into the dome light and the brawlee tapped into the 12v supply. Both switches have red LED rings powered by the dome light so their only lit when the dome light is on.

All the wiring is as hidden as possible running through the hardtop.

Thank you! They are red leather with black butterfly panels. Took 2 weeks to come in.

How do you feel about the Stealth Hi-jack Mount. I'm trying to figure out if I want it on the inside or mount it outside.

My front diff fluid was black less than 2000 miles, I only know because my front diff plug came loose coming off a boulder. A few thousand miles later it was fine when swapped the diff covers and fixed (or removed the first) thread.

Color is not a variable that dictates whether the fluid is good or not.

The Stealth is great and works for me. Tucks the Hi-Lift jack away nicely and keeps it out of the weather. The one issue some people might have is that I believe it would limit rack options. I believe that same location is used for mounting the Maximus-3 rack and possibly a few others.

Installed Springtail tailgate table with riser. Super easy and a really nice fit. A bit expensive but great quality. Also installed some protective backing for the steel bumper. I used a garage floor tile piece for the backing after using a piece of cardboard to trace out the shape. Drilled a couple holes and installed. Nice, easy solution to protecting the wires and connections inside the bumper.

Also, installed the Tazer front camera. This was a bit time consuming and tedious but not super difficult. Love having a front view. My previous F-150 had 360 degree view, which was awesome to have. Just having this front cam is a very nice addition.

How far out does it stick out towards the rear tailgate. I have a top lift pro to remove my hard top. I wonder if it would impede removing the top.

Tested this before. The top lift pro does not fit with the jack mounted in the back like that. It was a sad day when I found that out......

The Sport performance inspired (not Rubi, take that!) got installed last night. I somehow stripped the hinge bolts... Smfh. Don’t do things when tired and burned out.

Changed the oil and rotated the tires for the first time on my 2018 Sahara today at 5000 miles.

This had to be the easiest oil change I've ever done. My last truck (Ford Ranger) was a bear to get at the oil filter.

Tire rotation, not quite as easy. My hydrolic floor jack wouldn't fit in the place the manual says to jack up the front so I had to use a scissor jack to change the front tires. Also, my cheapie Harbor Freight torque wrench only goes to 100 ft lbs so I coldn't use it to torque the lug nuts (spec is 150 ft lbs). Had to use the old foot on the lug nut wrench method and guess when it was tight enough. I've been using that method for over 40 years and a wheel hasn't fallen off yet, so i trust it.

While rotating tires I also had the obligatory took a little chunk of skin off my index finger while replacing one of the tires, so had to take a stop the bleeding break. I don't think I've ever done a mechanical project where I didn't cut myself.

Bleeding aside, it was a fun little project and got me out of doing yard work this week.

Did you do a 4 or 5 tire tire rotation?
