Put back everything I usually keep in the Jeep. Took it all out last week so the techs at the dealer didn’t steal everything while it was in for service.
Washed it yesterday, and ordered a grille guard some new stickers and mud flaps for next months projects.

Changed the oil and rotated the tires for the first time on my 2018 Sahara today at 5000 miles.

This had to be the easiest oil change I've ever done. My last truck (Ford Ranger) was a bear to get at the oil filter.

Tire rotation, not quite as easy. My hydrolic floor jack wouldn't fit in the place the manual says to jack up the front so I had to use a scissor jack to change the front tires. Also, my cheapie Harbor Freight torque wrench only goes to 100 ft lbs so I coldn't use it to torque the lug nuts (spec is 150 ft lbs). Had to use the old foot on the lug nut wrench method and guess when it was tight enough. I've been using that method for over 40 years and a wheel hasn't fallen off yet, so i trust it.

While rotating tires I also had the obligatory took a little chunk of skin off my index finger while replacing one of the tires, so had to take a stop the bleeding break. I don't think I've ever done a mechanical project where I didn't cut myself.

Bleeding aside, it was a fun little project and got me out of doing yard work this week.

This is a fun thread I’ve seen on a few other forums. Can be anything from mods to drives, to washes, etc. pictures are always a plus!

So what did you do to your Jeep today?
Bumper upgrade and winch install. Put some KC Lites upgraded fogs with amber bulbs into the bumper. Also put some really sentimental vintage Hella 170s on the bar - are hand-me-downs from the first car my dad and I worked on together when I was a teenager.

Kind of paranoid and insulting to the dealer techs. Would you like the insinuation by someone if you were one of the techs?

@nerubi

@Rdmitch , indeed is smart to remove all valuables from inside his vehicle before he brings it to the dealership service department.

Not only do you have to worry about the dealership staff snagging your goods, but also all other's wondering about the dealership.... quite often your vehicle sits wherever and it is unattended and not locked..

Many /most dealerships have signs posted prominently, here and there, that state they are not responsible for items left in vehicles..

I’m picking up my Ocean Blue Rubicon next Saturday, but I’ve had a lot of time to play waiting for her. While I really like the sheen of the red Rubicon dash, I don’t like the Superman color scheme of a red dash on a blue Jeep, so I purchased a take-off dash from another forum member and wrapped it in Satin Chrome Dark Blue Matte vinyl and love the look. Here it is next to some hinge protectors that I painted Ocean Blue.

He was specifically accusing the techs. Because Wranglers are easy to break in to no one should carry anything anytime (no doors, no top). At my dealer they lock the doors when vehicles are on their lot and I don't think the techs are going to endanger their job by taking 75 cents from my console. But since I don't trust the safe deposit boxes at my bank I carry all my gold and silver bullion in MOLLE bags. Maybe I should reconsider that part of it.

@nerubi , So you slap on the title "Tech" or Service Manager or .....on some smuck and that deems a guy/gal to be honest and above grabbing a pricey flashlight or a pair of pricey sunglasses out of a vehicle... Yeah alright.........

If you don’t trust your dealer enough to not empty your Jeep every time you need service, time to find another dealer.

When you carry expensive electronic equipment for work you always remove everything from a vehicle before leaving it anywhere that you are not in control f it.
Ive lost gear to techs, valets, and others in the past. Since it was sitting a dealership for 2 days, Tech was the proper verbiage. Had I been leaving it at an airport garage I would have used other language.

Yeah. And I don't carry anything expensive especially overpriced sunglasses or flashlights. Because it is just as easy to have stuff stolen parked on a street, parking lot or driveway. So why worry about someone that can be pinned down for stealing something from your vehicle when it is far more likely to have stuff stolen in the public realm.
