I live in Knoxville TN I was going to go to windrock two weeks ago in the peak of the rain. We all cancelled because it was so wet we didn't want to wreck the trails, but we couldn't have gone anyway because the road to the park was under 5 ft of water. We've had a few dry days but it's supposed to rain all day Friday and Saturday now. I'll be at windrock Saturday but as a spectator for the Rock bouncing event. Going back the next week to ride at EJL. If you go this week it's going to be wet! Also hurricane Creek is a fun trail. (Not sues how it's fared with the rain)
2" of rain is coming today & tomorrow...it's gonna be very slick!

We decided to bail on the trip and will reschedule for later in the spring. There’s no sense in us pushing our luck just to say we did it.

Watched the latest litebrite YouTube on their Jeep upgrade to Dynatrack. They’ll be headed to Windrock the following week. I think like the 13-14th. Will be interesting to see their footage.

I decided last night around 915pm that I was going to make the 5 hour trip to Windrock in time to watch the Bouncer Hill Climb. I left the house at 330am this morning and I'm very glad I did. I watched the whole hill climb from the start line at the tape. It was pretty cool, not really a lot of carnage, but still impressive to watch. After the race, I went and hit the trails. There are 3 badge trails here at Windrock. I hit up one of them this afternoon and I'll do the other two tomorrow morning before driving back home. It was a decent, muddy day. I really liked the drizzle of rain and the fog on the trail. Anyway, here a few pics a couple random videos:

@chevymitchell Great write up and footage. Pretty ballsy to go solo after all the rain. Have you thought of getting a gopro camera mounted on your dash? Would be very cool for that creek crossing.

I wouldn’t neccessarily say ballsy. I perform my own risk assessments and know when to say no. It’s all calculated risk. I’ve done a lot of wheeling alone. I’ve ran into trouble, but nothing I saw today concerned me. I have a Hero 7 Black and brought it with me. I just didn’t feel like setting it up, I suppose. Lol. I was having a good time just wheeling away. I’ll be back out there right when they open in the morning to keep going with Trail #51 and #16.

We've had 2.5" of rain in Chatt since yesterday...if it were drier, I'd leave at 5am and would love to meet you. Did you see anything that a 3" lifted jl on 35" ko2's with lockers would struggle on?

Nothing yet. 16 is going to be tricky, I think, but 51 shouldn’t be bad at all. I think there’s a few of us that will be coming back within the month.

I woke up early this morning and got back to the General Store right at 8 as they opened. I had to buy a new map since the one from the day before ended up in the mud and then the trash. The goal for the day was trail #51 and #16, however, the lady at the desk said 16 was washed out pretty bad. That was enough warning for me to save it for next time. I thought about it all morning as I was heading up to #51, but the smart decision was to wait.

It took an hour and a half to make it to the North Trailhead for trail #51. It was a fun drive to get all the way up there. The trail itself was super easy and the little waterfalls along the way were really nice.

It's 299 miles from my house to the General Store according to Google Maps. I put a total of 683.9 miles on the Jeep for this 2 day trip, which means approx. 70 miles of trails driven (including tire spin). I have to subtract for the trip to lodging and back. That's not too bad for a quick 2 day trip. Here's a video and some pics:

@chevymitchell A buddy of mine was at Expedition jl at Windrock this Saturday. He said there were some nasty ruts(4 ft deep) from buggies and even folks with 37s locked up were having to winch...this guys front axle didnt fare well:

Yeah... Looks like a bad day for him. Hope he got out alright and it was nothing major.

However, it looks like a lot of fun! Pick the right line and you'd be ok running trails like that. I'm looking forward to being out there again.
