I'm thinking about driving from Raleigh NC to hit up the Windrock trails in TN. It's 5+ hour drive and before I put in the time investment I'd love to hear if anyone has spent much time on them.

Searching the forum there was really no information on thoughts.

I've you have been or know of the trails, I'd like to hear about it.

I was there in 2016 in my way back feom Moab. Trails are great. Are you running stock or have you modded your Jeep?

Here are a few videos from YouTube (not mine)

I have a JLUR with the mopar 2” lift, 35s on beadlocks and a winch.

My only challenge is that I’m likely solo for this trip to TN.

Wind rock is great, we go every year for a week. I would recommend having another Jeep or 2 go with you. The trails are long a some difficult ones can get you in trouble. There are alot of areas without cell phone coverage. You can run all day and not see another group on the trails.

I will say that their idea of a "gravel road" can vary a lot. I took my bone stock one week old JLU up there and the green trails (easiest) were a bit more exciting than I expected. I would agree that going with some friends would be smart, especially someone who knew the trails. Even with their map (which is a smart purchase) in hand I felt like I had no idea what to expect around the next corner. However it was a lot of fun and I'll be going back soon. The park is well run and huge.
